Yakitori restaurant

Tokyo Bird is an incredible establishment and I’m shocked it took me this long to find it. Great selection of whiskey, snacks were delightful and the staff Yoshi & Sonya were so incredibly knowledgeable and informative. If I’m not going here on a weekly basis from now on I’ll be shocked. Keep up the great work team, my new favourite bar in Sydney.

We were introduced to this gem by a couple of friends who took us out to dinner last night. A great selection of traditional Japanese food to share and a nice selection of fantastic Japanese beers. Even though the restaurant was quite busy, we could still easily have a conversation without yelling at each other. Huge bonus for us, almost the whole menu is gluten free. A really enjoyable experience.

Nice Japanese restaurant located just a short walk from Kings Cross. They freshly cook Yakitori so I recommend getting a counter seat if you can to see them cook. The food is good but don’t expect normal Japanese Izakaya prices. Typically dishes are around $20-$30 each. That said they are tasty and somewhat a bit unique to what you would normally find in an Izakaya in Japan. If you go, try the pork belly and the Tsukune Yakitori. Overall it was a good experience.

I adore this place! Have come about 3 times and will continue to come. Great Japanese finger food, great choice of drinks & such an awesome vibe!

Great food and a good beer in a relaxed atmosphere. We came on a sunny weekend afternoon and loved it! In the middle between a Ramen and a Sushi place, and next to a Japanese supermarket. All you need to experience Japan in Sydney. There are many Japanese places in town, but few are as humble and relaxing as this one. We will be back often for sure.

Undoubtedly one of the best food experiences I've had in Brisbane. We celebrated my birthday and splurged on the $75 set, everything left us impressed - the flavours and presentation were outstanding. Most importantly the friendly staff who took every effort to ensure we had a great time. Would come back any time!

While we enjoyed most of the dishes we ordered from Yokoso Izakaya, some of the entrees were way overpriced for what they were. The mains were amazing, the Wagyu Udon, chicken curry and salmon steak were absolutely delicious. Had ton of flavour and the meat was cooked perfectly. Everyone were happy with the dishes. Whereas their rolls were essentially a sushi roll but three times the price, they tasted good but not worth the price. However the crispy Wagyu balls were amazing. I could have eaten that all night. I would suggest get the crispy Wagyu and the mains, skip on the sushi rolls. Also the staff were very friendly and accommodating when it came to dietary requirements.

This place is amazing. The food is authentic Japanese izakaya style or Japanese bar food but a bit of a mix of western style to take the izakaya food to the next level.I recommend everyone to try chawanmushi. It does not exactly taste like a traditional Japanese one but it is so creamy and you will enjoy the complexity of the flavour. The service was great too.

A staple for Potts Point! Reasonable prices for 5 star food and service. I’ve never had a bad meal here and love this place. The staff are all lovely and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this restaurant ♥️
