Kingston House Impressions

I have dined here 3 or 4 times over the years and even though the decore and original 5 star ambiance remains, my experience on 28th Aprill 2022 at a birthday party was disappointing. The menu was good but confusing and designed for all meal times and events, it required a waitress to explain how to understand the multiple pages on a clip board and this may be why 5 out of 7 people chose fish. Our meals were all great even though one steak dish had the wrong compliment. The other 6 had slad you could get at the local cafe, at $27 for a lunch with 1 drink the salad should be better: everyone thought the Barra was special. The deserts were all good but we had to wait after they were served for the ice cream to arrive ? this was unforgivable and my ice cream was placed on the plate away from my dish, never to meet.Kingston House has the potential to be the number one dining experience in the region once it understands is place.

It was my first time this past weekend (Saturday 12/11/22), my steak was supposed to be medium rare, it came out rare. Also the gravy around the steak was super salty. I told staff about the issues with the saltiness and all I got was “I will let the chef know”, just disappointing considering the prices. I could have made a better meal for a third of the price. Just not good enough. Never again.Nice town though.

What a wonderful restaurant! Our server Cindy was fantastic, excellent service. The food was magnificent! Would have to say it’s the best food I have eaten out in a long time.Highly recommend.

We were a social group of 12 and I only heard great things said about everyone meals. The steaks were all cooked as requested and my seafood linguine was seriously the best I've ever eaten and my pear tart desert looked beautiful and tasted delicious.

Great food with a varied and opulent menu. Good wine list although the single glass options are limited. Will definitely go again next time I'm in Gympie.

I went there for lunch. We were the only 2 people in the restaurant. We order to share. Had to buy wine by the bottle. Could not just buy a glass. The waitress brought us our food and put in the center . No plates. Had to go ask for some. Then bought the wine. Not only did she not pour it she didn't even open it. We only had 1 dish each and this cost $150. The place has gone down hill. It used have silver service with exceptional food. Wouldn't bother wasting your money

Friendly staff, fantastic food, quick service. Wonderful little spot for a nice meal.

Loved our beautiful wedding and reception here. The old world charm and Kim (owner) make for the perfect day.

We had a lovely lunch and great service! Food was scrumptious, drinks tasty and the decor was clean and simple!Air conditioning was lovely! Toilets were nice and clean! Wheelchair access with ramps and room!
