Good walks and trees

A mixed bag, this one. Amazing collection of plants and trees, but not much in the way of care for the facility. There were no brochures in any box to enable us to know what we were looking at. The starting area (undercover picnic/info shed) had a look of abandonment about it, and the vegetation to the front and sides looked as if someone has chopped down trees/shrubs and dumped them - they hadn't; it just seemed that way. A pity. The lookout area was not a look out" - because of the profusion of trees there was no view to be seen."

Visit the Points, and marvel at one of the largest collections of Eucalypts in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as extensive collections of other Australian plants.The Peter Francis Points Arboretum, or 'The Points', is a native Australian plant collection, located on the edge of the town of Coleraine, Western Victoria. Situated on 37 hectares, the collection contains in excess of 10,000 plants, and includes 63 rare and endangered native species.The Points contains a collection of Eucalypts (registered with the Garden Plant Conservation Association of Australia Inc), and features a range of walking trails. It is a beautiful location for a picnic, as well as an amazing botanical reference.The arboretum is managed by Parks Victoria, and supported by the Friends of the Peter Francis Points Arboretum.

Interesting place, meant to be greatest collection of eucalyptus species in Australia. Since being taken over by Parks Victoria there has been some deterioration of roads, track etc within park.Some of the trees have lost name tags but this is being updated as are some of the signs. There is more that could be done to make this into a more outstanding area for visitors.Still worthy of exploring as a unique experience set amongst extensive farmland. The limited volunteer work that can be done is by a few passionate individuals.

Interesting place for walking, a bit neglected, but worth a visit

Good place to walk with family, kids play area, and kangaroos to watch. Pity its deteriorated since parks vic took over, the greenhouse has been completely demolished.

Beautiful nature fauna. Great variety of native tree's. Nice place for a BBQ. Great location. Coleraine is a great little town.

A peaceful, relaxing way to spend a Saturday afternoon surrounded by so many native Australian trees and shrubs. It's a beautiful place to visit.

Grew up looking out from this lookout. Trees are a lot higher and now actually block out the town unfortunately but still a beautiful spot to visit

A sign showing where to find any tree type of specific interest would add to the information. Also, need to plant shorter species ahead of a culling of the tall trees that have blocked the viewing site that previously provided spectacular views overlooking the town
