Mount Isa Rodeo Ground

So excited for August Rodeo. Hopefully it is not stopping or affected by cvid.

Loved this fabulous rodeo! Would have liked to have stayed the whole four days, but had to continue our journey. Will definitely go back, one day!

Camp ground good, however yestetday not telling people the access road to the camping area would be closed from 11am to 5pm caught people out and made for very angry people including me as i had to abandon the truck at gate 8 amd walk back to the camp. Good jod i had a freezer in the truck so that frozen food i had just purchased didn't go off.Not impressed with lack of information. Also why can't pre purchased tickets be included in the camping package, too easy.

Sensational day at the Mt Isa Rodeo...enjoyed every moment & we were there for over 12 hours. Very professionally run, great variety of thrilling events & totally entertaining.

Very lacking in information. Closed the camping area off for the day, due to bloody politics between the race ground and rodeo. Grow up people and get more professional, information changing every 5 mins.

Best rodeo I’ve ever been to! Glad we made the long trek to get here, it was definitely worth it and a lot of fun. Some seriously tough and talented cowgirls, cowboys and juniors. Amazing horsemanship and top quality livestock that were very well cared for. We camped at the rodeo grounds at an unpowered site, toilets and hot showers were provided and cleaned daily. Also included was a free cooked breakfast for the campers which was great, although not very well advertised and took a while to figure out where it was. It was pretty dusty but that’s to be expected being in Mount Isa. Our only issues with the event was the organisation behind it - we had issues checking into our camping site and with the cashless wristbands (don’t understand the logic behind the wristbands - why do we need to pay $2.50 activation fee and wait in even more queues than necessary to top up??). Prices of food/drink were a bit expensive but I suppose that’s the norm at these kinds of events now. Concerts were great too. Pretty lucky to have an event of this size and such high quality, it’s been on my bucket list for ages and now thinking that I’ll be back again for years to come. Thanks to all the people who organised and ran this event, it would require an enormous amount of hard work and long hours and it didn’t go unnoticed.

Well kept grounds. Could use a few more toilet facilities.
