Our Jack Russel had suspected snake bite. Vomiting, weakness, passed out and fluids pouring from nose. I drove to vets, by the time I got there she’d recovered a bit and could walk. He said, good chance it was snake bite, take her to the park and sit with her for an hour or so, if doesn’t get worse you may be right. Not knowing anything about snakebite in dogs I followed vets advice and let dog rest. Dog just didn’t seem right, was very agitated and whimpering. I Didn’t trust that vets opinion so took our dog to another vet. The second vet couldn’t believe no blood tests had been done and advised dogs often bounce back soon after snake bite to only die later in the day or overnight!! I was mortified. Second vet ran bloods and confirmed snakebite! Dog was immediately put on drip and had antivenin treatment and stayed overnight. Vet was gobsmacked other vet hadn’t recommended blood testing and had we not taken action most likely dog would not have survived the night.Initial male vet at Grafton Valley Clinic didn’t seem to care or take it seriously and the lack of action may have cost our dogs life, had we not sought a second opinion.

Had a great experience with this Vet. Had an emergency situation in which they offered great advise as to my options and got me in as a priority to address the issue. Gave me peace of mind and re-assurance that my puppy was in good hands.

Highly disappointed!! Have used this vet for years as they were once brilliant, but not anymore. Abrupt and incompetent reception. Had to repeat things numerous times until they listened. Told a time for drop off then given another, and when our dog was dropped in was treated poorly as though it was our fault for the incorrect time until we produced the hand written notes on their card we were given after initial consult. An hour after he was dropped in for his procedure then got a call from the vet saying they hadn't started because they forgot to give us a cost estimate and would wait for our go ahead - why was this not done at the initial consult? And money was never an issue. Told them our dog is not dog-friendly and has anxiety and needs to be away from other dogs in the surgery. He was put in what looked like a cold shower recess to recover from surgery (thought with the amount of other dogs with similar issues they would have a separate area especially for dogs like this in their upgraded clinic). Have had numerous other pets recover from surgery without too many dramas. Our dog was dopey, couldn't stop shivering, was in pain and couldn't walk until the next day. Stitches were untidy and tight and our dog was sent home with no pain killers or a head cone to stop him scratching his stitches out. Then they forgot to finish half the work, but I bet we got charged for it.Seems you guys have lost your touch, your service and your duty of care!! Well you've also lost another once long-term customer as well!!Not happy having to write a review of this nature but felt after this treatment it was warranted.

Best clinic in Grafton. Had an emergency with my cat who had been attacked by a dog. I’d never been to this vet before and they were fantastic. Saw her immediately and did everything they could to help her without hesitation.
