Best meats in the gosford area by far

I discovered Nev and Jim’s after moving from the country to the central coast. After forty years of running a cattle farm I have been very impressed by the quality of beef I have purchased.

Have been shopping here for several years and just recently have been surprised by the poor quality. First it was very poor quality chicken breast of which I threw in the bin, (2kg) surely the butcher serving me could smell how bad it was. Now today, I paid a high premium for poor quality lamb cutlets. The photo shows it: I bought 6 cutlets and got 4 and 2 bones. How can I serve this to my guest. It’s embarrassing!!Get your act together, we support you as an independent butcher, at least you can supply good quality.

Visited the Erina store today and the service was excellent, extremely knowledgeable and not rushed in asking for advice. The quality of the meat was superb. Highly recommended

I shopped here for a number of years & found all of the staff to be happy & respectful & I always spent a lot of money here, for us & our large dog. I give the staff that I knew there & had served me 4.5 stars but one day an older female that was working, left me standing at the counter, avoiding eye contact with me (I had never seen her before) I ended up asking her if she was serving customers. I asked her if she could separate the meat into 2 separate bags, she rolled her eyes & didn’t respond. I asked her again as I didn’t think she heard me through the glass and her response was yes I heard you the first time (in a condescending tone). She was the rudest individual I have ever come across in a shop & I will NEVER ever shop there again. I found out that she was the wife of one of the owners!! No customer service skills whatsoever! They have lost me as a customer & my $$$ & another butcher shop has gained my business.

I bought the most awful sausages from this butcher. The duck sausages were so SALTY. I was drinking gallons of water all night. Its the first time I have bought there. I tried to calling their number about 10 times before posting this review.

The quality of meat is always good but was disappointed yesterday when I was told I couldn't have the chops from the front tray that had markedly less fat because he'd been instructed to only sell from the back. If I'm paying good money I would like the meat I select, not what is selected for me.

First trip yesterday and purchased the New York Cut $26.99. It was excellent. See you again Nev & Jim.Three out of three were excellent.Forth trip, forget it.I purchased $38 of Heart Smart New York Cut which had so much fat I spent ages cutting off the fat & gristle . I called expressing my disappointment & the manager offered to replace it however the thought of a 40 plus min drive and parking was not appealing given the time of the year 9th December also I was running out of time with guests due.I thought a part credit or something similar would have been fair, maybe I'm unreasonable!!The search continues for a butcher with good consistency of meat.

Great burgers and sausages - picked up some for a BBQ and they were so good we went back and bought more for the freezer. Good service and good prices... highly recommend
