We book a table for 7people on 7:15pm today , once we enter the shop the staff said that someone else has been taken our name to have the table . It’s a very bad management , and the staff are trying to ignore us , wasting our time all the way from city to here . Never come again .

We used to really enjoy dining at Wong’s Kitchen. However, when we went over the weekend, the service and food standard had gone down hill. Maybe changed owner? Furniture was different, no table cloth or white paper cover. Staff were different.In addition to the seafood we ordered, we asked for Mongolian chicken. Staff tried to convince us to get lamb or beef, even though we wanted chicken. He said he will ask the chef to see if it’s doable. This dish is listed in the menu book, why wouldn’t it be doable?Food was served in an unusual order. Lobster with noodles came last, no apologies. Portion size is a lot smaller than they used to be. Taste was very average.During dinner, no one proactively came to clear empty plates or change bone plates. We had to raise our hands to request each time.Icing on the cake… they charge $2 pp for tea (even for kids drinking water, we had to ask this to be fixed), and $6 pp for corkage! This is very expensive service charge for any restaurant, especially in Box Hill.We won’t be going back.

Unreasonable weekend surcharge of 10%. Portion extremely small. 6 ppl lobster banquet with a fresh fish upgrade of $100 ended up a total of $600. Charging us a whopping $55 weekend charge, plus $2.5 tea per person. Don't mind spending but quality is not even good. Will not go again.

Guys don't go without cash - their surcharge is $5 (!??!?!) if you use card. We were not informed of this when we entered and at the end of the meal we had no choice but to pay the $5 as we didn't have cash on us. Food was OK but honestly who charges $5 for card payment? And at least tell your customer before they come in? This was on a weekday also. Will not be back.

King crab was delicious! Cooked in 2 ways- spring onion with noodles and salt and pepper with legs! Is meaty and tasted the deep sea flavour. Worth a try

4 years ago I gave this place 5 stars.. Went here today to celebrate my MILs birthday and it was shocking to see how the standards had dropped. Given the recent google reviews of how bad it has become, I can only assume the ownership’s, staff and Chefs have changed in the recent months.The waitress tried to convince us to take the banquet and annoyed we wanted to order extra noodles with our lobster (which is surprising because they actually made more money and business). The chef definitely changed as the standards had dropped significantly, the lobster noodles were over cooked, fish, chicken and pork were average.It was so hard to try to get them to clear the plates, get more tea and containers. When my husband asked for a candle for our cake, the waitress who served us was rude and showed attitude. The worst part was when we paid in cash and we told them to keep the change because we didn’t want to carry coins but when we asked for another small container the manager told us to pay 50 cent extra for the containers. We should have asked them to return the change to pay for the 50 cent container. Very inconsiderate and all they think about is money and not customer service.Really miss the old owners and team. We won’t be coming here again. Recommend NOT to come here.
