Interesting little historical site. For me this marks the start of a wonderful looping 8km hike across Mount Osmond with wonderful views overlooking Adelaide. Infact the steepest incline is right at the start so you very quickly get some stunning views out over Adelaide.

Brings back memories my father did a lot of work bringing it and other Wheal mines in the Burnside area in the early 80s by memory.

Historic mining site situated close to the old toll gates. This was one of the first silver / lead mines in Australia.The mines is closed for public access but you can get a good look from near the entrance.Good to visit if you are passing through

Great little spot! The mine shaft is closed off ans locked but the small park is nice and there are information boards with local history and a nice backdrop for photos.

Sadly there isn't much see at this mine. Only three things are there to see, an old vehicle, mine trolley and a gate to the mine which is locked. I was so surprised to see a house built just couple of meters above the mine. There is a plaque explaining regarding the mines. You can experience all of these from pictures uploaded to Google Maps. You can park you car here and go on hiking trails in the near by hills.
