Goodbyes

Brought my clothes in on hangers. Received them back balled up and wrinkled, shoved into bags. And the employee who reviewed my items was really weird about telling me that they had declined everything I brought in. It was like she wanted me to be embarrassed that my stuff wasn't their jam. Grow up and get some manners, Goodbyes (and some professionalism in how you handle people's belongings – no matter what you think of them).

SO many top designers in one shop, all priced reasonably (most under $100), it is my go to clotheing shop as you never know what you’ll find, and all high quality. Great condition second hand clothes, which get heavily discounted incrementally. Best place to snag designer bargains.

Out of all the Goodbyes stores that I’ve visited, Collingwood is hands down my favourite. I love the spacious fitting rooms and the open layout of the store with the register in the middle of the store (I don’t know why, just appeals to me so much). Have always had such smooth transactions both with consigning and purchasing. Love the concept, love the store!

Goodbyes is predominantly a consignment store. I visit the store as both a buyer and seller. I have had a number of high end items for sale by consignment and so far I have been happy with the service. The only criticism I have is the split of the proceeds is supposed to be 50/50 but it is not really. Well initially it is but then the seller also has the 10% gst on the total of the sale deducted from their end. Because the structure of the sale is that the item is marked down over a period of time until it is for sale at 70% discount off the original agreed selling price. You do however have the option of removing your items from sale at any time.As a buyer though the sale structure is phenomenal. I have snagged some super bargains on some high quality items.I actually struggle to leave the store without buying something.The stock is mostly very well curated. Any items with faults are clearly marked as such.They sell current as well as vintage items.All in all a visit to the store is well worth your time.

I came here to get an outfit for my engagement party and found the cutest flared trousers and a striped button up, all thanks to the curated selection of high quality designer threads. Thanks goodbyes! Love you

You can occasionally find a beautiful piece but I always walk out due to the incredibly cold & clinical customer service. Never a hello, never any form of acknowledgment unless if you’re wearing vintage Issey Miyake.I’m yet to have a single positive experience at either stores and I’ve lived in Melbourne for over 4 years. It gets tiring being intentionally ignored when their literal job is to assist you…

Goodbyes always have interesting garments, when collecting sold garments there is friendly staff who provide great customer service and assistance- especially at the Collingwood store. There is usually great variety and selection of pieces to discover and thats what I love most about Goodbyes.

Since it’s humble beginnings in Wellington almost 10 years ago I’ve been a regular at Recycle Boutique-seeing the brand and culture grow and reach Australia was exciting for the community and convenient when I moved here. Ive never been as disappointed in it as I am now.Usually a regular at the Brunswick store, I decided to drop a bag off at newly branded “Goodbyes” in Collingwood. It appears with the new name there are also new (dysfunctional) systems-as with their new atrocious approach to customer service and satisfaction. Offensive, demoralising and unwelcoming. This is goodbye for good.

Waste of time, brought 5 bags of stuff to sell - some vintage and designer pieces and other nice clothes. They didn’t pick anything “due to condition”, but some of the items were brand new (with labels!) and others hardly worn. I wonder whether they even looked through it all. For the vintage pieces I brought, I was surprised that “condition” is even thing as they’re vintage (website states they accept vintage items). I saw items in the shop in way worse condition. Wasted 2 hours of my day.Shop itself is nice and clean, though.
