Today we went to the Alpaca barn to buy some scarves and a shawl. The lady that served us was the sweetest lady ever! She was just really lovely. My husband really liked something but he was unsure of himself and she was so encouraging and lovely. I hope her company rewards her for her level of service because she is absolutely wonderful. We went back and bought more things partially because she is so lovely and we will go back and buy another jumper on our next trip because it was really nice but just not the colour I wanted.Thank you for the way you looked after us today. It was a wonderful experience.

Annie from the shop was absolutely amazing. She kept the store open as we only got there at 4pm and then reopened the store early the next day to accommodate. We were in the Hunter for a weekend and stumbled across this shop. Our grandma hasn't been able to find an alpaca wool cardigan in her size (XL) for ages, especially given she's unable to travel anymore. Annie walked us through all the available styles and allowed us to take photos and measurements so our grandma could choose. The next day we returned with a shortlist and true to her word, she had opened the store early. While the shop didn't have the particular style in XL, she directed us to the Hunter Valley Gardens shop where we were able to make a purchase.I honestly don't know what the other reviews are talking about. It is common courtesy not to touch theae products without seeking the assistants help as these products are all handmade.Annie, you were truly exceptional in your service and we appreciate your help in allowing us to make a purchase (despite not from your store but the other Alpaca Barn).

Amazing products and very friendly service. Unfortunately had to rate down as, contrary to what the name suggests, they did not actually have any alpacas.

The staff here are so rude.We walked in to the Peppers Creek store today looking for gifts to take home. The coldest rudest welcome I have ever had.The woman was serving a customer putting a sale through and stopped to march over and stare at us, like she thought we were stealing or something. So unnecessary.Way to alienate any potential customers away from even thinking about purchasing from your store.Even though the customer service was terrible. The products here were of extremely high quality. The owner should review the staff you employ. Or maybe even Peppers should reconsider the lease of this shop and put something that welcomes people to the Hunter.

Beware: enter at your own risk! Treated like we were criminals! If we could give this store a zero star, we would.I agree with the comments about the terrible customer service. The lady owner is cold, rude and not welcoming at all.We visited the other store in the Hunter to compare experiences and the staff there were friendly. So beware if you get the lady owner. From the moment we entered the store, she hovered over us and it was a very unpleasant experience. We eventually realised that she was retracing our every step to see if we had stolen something. We left the store feeling soiled and polluted. This woman should not be in front of house retail! While the store has some high quality products (although some are downright ugly kitsch) we would not give one cent of our money to this business.

My friends and I went to the Pepper Creeks store today looking for some souvenirs to take home. The lady in the shop was greeting us and quite friendly at the start but didn’t introduce us any products or any promotions, instead she asked us what we are studying in uni, which sounded a bit weird but it was fine for us. We looked around in the store and we saw those jumbo alpacas toys sitting on the stairs and they looked so cute, so one of my friends took a picture of them. The lady didn’t say anything about taking pictures so we assumed we could take pictures in the store. Then we kept looking around in the store and the lady started following us and checked what we were doing like we were about to steal something, we felt very uncomfortable with that! :(When we were about to leave, we saw some little alpaca figurines on the shelf near the entrance and they were so lovely, so my friend took a few pictures of them as well. All the sudden, I heard the lady said to us “That’s enough, bye”, my friends and I felt really shocked by that! What is the meaning of “That’s enough”? There weren’t any signs saying we can’t take pictures in the store, we only saw the signs that were saying “no touch”. If she mentioned that we can’t take any pictures at the beginning when my friend took the first picture of the jumbo alpacas, we would apologise and stop taking pictures, however, she didn’t mention anything about that. This is part of a tourist attraction so the lady should expect people take pictures in the store as there aren’t any signs saying “no pictures in the store”. So unnecessary and very rude!I was about to buy a small alpaca figurine for my mum, but when I heard what the lady said to us, I decided not to purchase anything from this store and I will not come and visit this store again in the future!I suggest the owner of the store should review the staff you employ as I felt very uncomfortable and upset about this shopping experience!
