Having just come back from a month in France I can say that the chocolate croissant was excellent but quite different from the French ones, crispier and seemed to have a glaze which was very nice. However I think the price at $6.50 is the world gone mad - I know cost of living pressures but….. French ones were €1.10 good or bad…

Appreciate the reply James - my almond cappuccino tasted watered down.Travelling from the far west, I drop by at every given chance for their croissants and all other baked goods but their coffee is just not good. I've tried it several times, each time giving them the benefit of the doubt but each time I'm disappointed and end up throw away more than half of my coffee. Highly recommended for their pastries but not coffee.

We were just passing through and wanted something to have for lunch with our cheese.We had the most delicious olive bread and a cheese and oregano croissant - so delicious! I highly recommend this bakery.

Always long queues outside! But best croissants in Sydney!! At 9am croissants already sold out so we bought almond croissants instead. The croissants were quite firm but crispy. Not like others normally hollow and soft. Almond croissants had berry filling inside. Delicious.

What a beautiful place, my grandmother is in the Bupa Complex and have been meaning to stop in for a long time. Finally did so today and was greeted to the most amazing service. The baker overheard it was our first time in the shop and proceeded to give us 6 delicious hot cross buns. We got a couple of Vanilla Slices (the best we've ever had and my 96yo grandmother loved hers). If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Will be back again and again.

Staple Bread & Necessities, located in a residential area, amongst only a few shops in Seaforth on Sydney’s northern beaches.You can see the bakers at work through the window and they sell baked goods from the front open window.They sell a range of types of sourdough loaves (regular sourdough, spelt, rye loaves, grain), foccacia, cakes and croissants. We tried a delicious cheese and oregano croissant (nice and crunchy on the outside) as well as a plain croissant.We recommend arriving early as by 11am they were nearly sold out of pastries. Be prepared for a line!

One of the best croissants I have had in Sydney. The Cheese and oregano croissant was amazing. I arrived early and the cheese was still very warm, almost too hot! So fresh, crispy and all round delicious.The espresso coffee was completely dialled in. Make this a stop on your trip north of the harbour
