Julie & Wayne are awesome hosts. We were fortunate to get the Duke room which matches the amazing photos. Clean, comfortable and indulgent. Dinner was also delicious. Five stars.

Beautiful stay. Clean rooms, very comfortable beds. Gorgeous shower and the water pressure is awesome!! Highly recommend staying at Hermitage Hill.

The room was awesome the service was unbelievable and the hosts were absolutely the best!!!Oh and BTW the food was to die for!! thanks so much will definitely return and also tell everyone about your place I was here for work but will return for pleasure

Not nice Washing from rooms in hallways that smells, common room is like a builders humpy/meal room unusable, looks like the builders live here and all building equipment is in the common room builders shoes out the entry to building no lights I feel over them during the night, restaurant is not open had to drive for food it’s a long walk to town I book for three days me and my wife do not want to stay here and I’m going to try to get a refund for two days to stay somewhere and else. Update 2023 no refund owner at the time went away on holidays closed the restaurant and didn’t tell anyone who had booked there, this was wellington show time of the year big event for the town

Absolutely loved this place. It's a charming old building. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The service was very friendly and made us feel very at home. The restaurant is also great, one of the best meals we have had in a long time. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough

This country retreat has an abundance of charm and character, just like its lovely owners Julie and Wayne. The setting is superb and the meals are awesome. I had the best dinner every with an amazingly cooked fresh barramundi on a scrumptious boutique salad that also went beyond anything I'd eaten before. Can't recommend a stay here enough!!!

Views are spectacular!Beds are comfortable with crisp clean linen, what else do you need to have a good rest on your trip?..

Stayed at the Hermitage for a weekend with my sisters. Beautiful buildings, rooms super clean and comfortable. The hosts Julie and Wayne were so helpful and nice. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate at the restaurant and it was sensational.

No issues with check-in, staff was friendly and helpful over the phone (contactless check-in during COVID), the room was clean and the airconditioning worked great. I stayed in the guest building which is a bit cheaper (shared bathroom) however they do offer rooms with private ensuites also.It's a big old place at the top of town with lots of room to park especially if you have a trailer or similar (I was transporting a motorcycle). Being off the main strip it felt a bit more secure.The restaurant was closed at the time I visited so I can't comment on the food.Thanks for having me!
