Was a Hydro workers village sold to a private venture in 2005 and repurposed for accommodation just magic. Accommodation was fantastic stayed in the scholar house. Mezzanine floor with double bed and 2 singles in another room Well equipped communal kitchen. Cafe and pub on site. Need to book for dinner. Couple of good walking tracks ranging from1.5 hours to 15 minute. It was brilliant. Other accommodation available. - 3 bedroom houses - Lakeside Villas - Cabins And Caravan spots

Really lovely, family all enjoyed exploring. Only wish we stayed an extra day or so so we weren't so rushed.

I spent 2 nights in a Lakeside cabin and, in the freezing conditions in September 2021, I was very happy it had been heated before my arrival. The cabin was spacious, self-contained & had everything I needed to cater for my own meals. Although not always open, dinner was available at the restaurant on the first night, a lovely venue, especially with the open fire. The home style meal was huge with a great variety of vegetables & the 2 courses offered were reasonably priced. There’s plenty of stunning walks around the area and the site itself has an interesting history, would definitely recommend.

I would not recommend this accommodation. We stayed in the lodge in February and there was just us and one other couple it was full of March flies everywhere inside. This is a very strange set up. We felt very isolated. We ate at the tavern and waited 1 and a half hour for a steak. There was only 14 people in the tavern. The room was big and spacious but dated and certainly not worth $470 a night.

Stayed in a lakeside cabin - very comfortable. Reasonable sized kitchen, double bedroom with comfortable bed, good sized bathroom. Very friendly and polite staff. Enjoyed the various walking trails. Very quiet. Seen wallabies, pademelons, morehens, geese and ducks that roam the Tarraleah Estate, and also seen highland cows that are fenced off. Sometimes you can be lucky enough to see quolls, eagles, or frogs, unfortunately we weren't. The lookout/observation point was amazing, and really interesting reading about the hydro power generation. We really enjoyed our time here - it was a really relaxing couple of days. Teez Cafe and Highlander Arms are both on the estate. Breakfast and lunch were both really good at the Teez Cafe. Highly recommend dinner at the Highlander Arms - they prefer bookings.
