Thornbrook Orchard

Joined a tour visiting this farm. Very nice place bought 5 kg cherries at $7perkg. Ate lot free. Plan to visit again for other fruits picking in winter.

We have been picking cherries here every year since 2017 and have always had a very pleasant experience. Thornbrook orchard is well run with happy and accommodating staff. The cherries have always been of great size and taste. Thank you Paula for the great experience every year!

Very nice experience, plenty of cherries to pick.. Reach early, otherwise they may close the gate if the crowd is not manageable.

We go cherry picking each year, but this year because of the storm we decided to purchase a pre-packed cherries instead. We trusted the orchard’s quality control given their reputation and pyo experience as well.We bought a box of 2kg Sunburst variety that we thought was premium. We were quite surprised and disappointed to find at least 30% of the pre-packed cherries we bought were either mushy, bruised or split, some were even completely squashed and inedible.We understand weather affects quality of crops. However, we would have expected more honesty. Sneakily putting bad cherries in the mix and charging as premium is quite unfair. There was no way of telling as we didn’t go through the whole box before purchasing, and the bad ones were hidden at the middle-bottom of the box.Would have been better if they told us these were imperfect batch from the beginning and not charge as premium.Overall, very disappointed with the quality of the pre-packaged cherries. Hopefully the disappointment won’t linger until next year, keen to come back if weather permits for pyo but never buy pre-packed ever again :(

Great experience cherry picking, lots of them hanging for us to pick, friendly owner, and cheap price as well compare to other farms.

Good orchard to go picking for cherries, peaches and apples. It was very unpleasant when it was raining or has just rained. The cherries are damaged and cannot be picked, and its cold so it makes it very hard to pick other fruits. The organisation in the carpark could be much better as there were buses and cars double parked and no way to get out. The people are kind and friendly and they were helpful.

We visited the farm shed to purchase some apples and nectarines. They were very fresh and relatively cheap ($3 per kg).
