Blue Mountain Sound

My experience at Blue Mountain Sound was great!Andy is really friendly and helpful taking time to make sure my songs where how I wanted them to sound, I was given lunch and coffee as well which was very much appreciated. the set up he has is awesome and I really enjoyed how he explained what was happening as we went through the songs. I would go back again.

Until yesterday (15-9-20) I had only ever heard of Andy and Blue Mountain Sound.What an incredible technician and a wonderful bloke. Andy's professionalism and competence is second to none. He made the process of recording easy and was quickly able to mix and produce quality work for my book and 'Arlo's Treasure' advertising jingle.I totally recommend 'Blue Mountain Sound' and Andy to any person needing professional sound recording and guidance.

We engaged with Blue Mountain sound in early 2021 to record voice over for our feature documentary 'The Message of the Lyrebird'. Andy was very accommodating in asking the right questions for the set-up we required, which worked perfectly for the job. We chose Blue Mountain Sound for several of our albums. Andy has a great studio with excellent gear and it is especially good for recording vocals. He has a lovely manner, is very patient, and knows his stuff. He gets results with great efficiency. I highly recommend his studio.

Andy has possibly the best pair of ears in the Mountains and is one of our best musicians as well. His work ethic is rock solid - he will do whatever it takes to make the music sound its best. He also has the humility to let artists make their own decisions, he is kind and generous and really fun to work with.

The important thing about working with anyone in music, is compatibility, simpatico, sympathy, empathy, the ability to listen, and then to keep listening even more. I asked Andy to master my completed album, and having never heard it before, Andy applied these most essential of skills to the peculiar task of mastering an album with 10 different instruments, recorded over 4 years, on a variety of different recording equipment.The outcome, the album that Andy gave back to me, was enriched, polished, made brighter, made darker, gently sculpted into the best version of itself. At a time when I had the least faith in myself and in my music, Andy had faith, and the grand result is that this album that I have dedicated years of my life to produce, is now ready to be released into the wild.This album might have lain in the dark corners of my room forever, had it not been for Andy Busuttil.

We have asked Andy to master all 3 of our Dangerous Song albums. Our music is very different to contemporary music being published today, as it uses the sounds of endangered and extinct animal calls and the human voice. Andy, not only a beautiful human, is an incredibly sensitive and intuitive sound engineer with a deep understanding of music across all genres. His empathic nature allows him to really tune into the music and the message, treating each project and song uniquely. Our music is dynamic and complex, but Andy's subtle treatment enhances, unifies and brings greater balance.

Recently my father had been to see Andy at Blue Mountain Sound studio to do some voice recording and suggested that I record some songs of mine there too. Andy made me feel completely welcome and comfortable (after observing the necessary covid precautions of course!) I found the whole experience professional and enlightening. Andy is generous with his insights and it was great to work with someone who was clearly in their element. I would definitely recommend Blue Mountain Sound for musicians of any competency and most importantly my final recording sounded fantastic. Thanks Andy
