Hi fin Aquariums

Business located in Blackburn Road, Melbourne in small shopping strip. Went there to find some fish to restock my outdoor pond with some comets or goldfish or koi or similar, plus some water plants for the pond. Sadly, there were no koi fish there but there were plenty of comets and fantails. This is my first time there and i was impressed with the service knowledge of the owner and staff members, range and depth of products. The price is not the cheapest around and when i tried to get a discount for buying more, this was not forthcoming. They had indoor fish, outdoor fish, cold water fish, warm water fish, tropical fish, fish for aquarium, fish for ponds, aquatic plants, coral, fish food, aquariums, lighting for aquariums, tank filters, aquarium decorations like coral shaped, reef shaped, pirate ship style decorations, tank cleaners, water purifiers, even stuff to put in tanks and ponds for fish to swim around and hide in, different variety of fish food, basically the works - not bad for a small shop. The owner, Nuwan, is very helpful as well as has plenty of useful information and knowledge. He tells me he has been there for the last few years and started the business from scratch.

Service is terrible, knowledge heavily lacks. No advice given on fish/tank compatibility.Bought 2 fire fish and was told they are compatible in a tank - gave me completely incorrect information.Bought 1 Hawkfish who killed 3 fish including one of the fire fish.I’ve been to many aquariums in Melbourne this one is definitely has the worst service.Called them before putting up a review so they can rectify or offer to take the fish back. They declined and so here we are.

Friendly staff, very considerate and plenty of marine corals and fish to choose from. Will definitely go back.

Owner is a great guy who's always willing to take the time to go through issues with him. Nice to see his new shop is up and running, it's an improvement on the last place by a large margin. It has way better parking. I compared the price of fish and the tropical fish here are mostly under 10 bucks, look healthy and there was a fair variety. All in all glad there is a well stocked aquarium nearby.

Great and friendly staff.Love coming here to check the siamese fighting fish and have great knowledge on all things you might need in your aquarium.

Lots of sick fish, very poorly mainted tanks, uneducated staff. Terrible service. definitely would not recommend going anywhere near this store.

Not your basic aquarium shop, still with all the basics to cover tropical and cold water ...but with marine options too. Friendly service. Recommended.

Young staff are very friendly, and owner too. Just do your research and use your own judgement. Don't rush in and impulse buy like I did! Like all Marine shops once you buy stock the hobbiest should QT! Although they do stock tropical too if that's your hobby.

Very knowledgeable and professional staff, I got all the advice I needed and their prices are very reasonable. I purchased new lights and some live plants for my fish tank and the staff who served me was very patient with all my questions! My tank is looking so much better now and my fish are much happier too! Thank you. I will be a regular from now on.

One of the very best aquariums in eastern suburbs. They always try to keep the place tidy and get new stocks most weeks. Their marine fish and coral collections are awesome. Always loved to go back to them. Only sad part is they close early, and after work its hard to reach before closing time. Recommend to anyone looking for reef stocks and they have some tropical stocks in best rates. Love their platty collections too
