Robina Private Hospital
Do not go here.In the beginning it seemed like great help, a place for my Father to get healthy. Sadly the Doctors really were lazy in diagnosing & treating the problem at hand.A few issues here. My father whilst staying here, he had gotten a bladder infection, when he came home being discharged we had to call the ambulance, turned out he needed a serious prostate surgery right away, wasn’t just a bladder infection.Dr Prashanti Veeramachaneni Didn’t catch my fathers life changing diagnosis, she thought he had depression but it took her over a year to figure out he had Frontal Dementia which he would’ve had creeping up for over a decade. He went back to Robina Private for rehab for 3 weeks because he was having trouble to walk & function normally. The physiotherapists said he was physically fine & nothing else to do & sent him home. I kept on telling them that he isn’t fine and he needs help but they said he didn’t need anymore help. He kept on declining & in a few months later he died. They never said that he was in such bad shape that he won’t be able to function at all soon, they said nothing of that sort. They absolutely should have & the fact they didn’t, shows this place didn’t pay attention to my father during the stay or they aren’t very educated.Dr Prashanti Veeramachaneni Would just get very impatient on his progress. My family expressed concern during a meeting with her but the Doctor was only concerned that my father wasn’t trying hard enough to improve from the classes he previously took and would only help him for a further 2 more weeks. She saw him as too much effort & she wanted to move on to a different patient treating him like a number that she wanted to get over & done with. People like this just aren’t cut out to be a doctor when lives are at stake. When he was always going to decline with Frontal Dementia nor did she tell our family that his Dementia was so severe he would further decline soon & be a vegetable. We did all the brain scans.I have sever trauma watching my father go this way & they could’ve done more, be honest & have a plan to help us of these fatal changes that will happen soon to prepare more smoothly & efficiently. After him being a patient for nearly 2 years, you would trust the doctors to do the right diagnosis of something this serious, his issue had nothing to do with mental health issues. With his kind of Frontal Dementia which I’ve learned it never gets better & only gets worse until the end.My Father passed away at Robina public hospital who weren’t accommodating in treating his fatal dementia either. Unfortunately My faith in doctors from this now is a below zero.Don’t have Dr Prashanti Veeramachanen as a doctor. I am not sure of the other doctors but I wish my father had the gold standard of health care & professionalism that he deserved.

I've had four admissions to Robina private in the last two years. Each time it's gotten worse. I would've given them a 5 star review two years ago.The amount of nurses on during the day has been halved since 2020, leaving patients with very little, if any, time to have a 1:1 check in with them. The managers and CEO will always vehemently deny this. This is the fault of management, and when I escalated this issue, I was told it was the nursing staff who should be able to handle their (unreasonable) workload. 3 nurses on a 30 bed floor? Disgusting, unfair to the nurses AND the patients. The nurses pull more weight than anyone.Since the last CEO left, the hospital has significantly declined in quality. The only thing that stayed the same is the food, which is great and thanks to the wonderful chef.During my last admission a patient came into my room which someone else witnessed. This patient already admitted to entering someone else's room in a different facility. The NUM only offered for ME to be moved to a different floor, not him. They refused to discharge him even though he had violated the safety and privacy of another patient. The Australia Charter of Healthcare Rights states every patient has a right to feel safe" and "respected"

Wish I could put a better rating because not everything about this hospital is bad. Massive thank you to the level 2 nurses, Brooke, Kirsty, Anthony, Elanah, Ellie, Tia, Amanda, Fae, Pete and Michael who go above and beyond in terms of patient care. Unfortunately, your stay here will largely be dictated by which psychiatrist you come in under where rules for some are not necessarily adhered to by others. TMS is a wonderful treatment option when staff who are actually trained are on shift. Be aware that most staff here are NOT trauma trained. Despite willingness to work with the appropriate people in upper management your concerns may not always be addressed or acknowledged in a timely or professional manner. Hoping my next stay here isn’t as traumatic and that the appropriate people can reflect and improve on current investigations into inadequate care.

Robina Private is one of the best dedicated mental health facilities. The staff truly care about patients and will do their best to help you.

I can't speak highly enough of this hospital. All the staff are just wonderful, not just the nurses and doctors. With complex PTSD, I've had several admissions and always found it to be a safe, caring place. Food's great as well!

As an inpatient for 5 weeks at Robina Private Hospital, the Aroura Café andChantelle was an absolute treasure. Every morning Chantelle would make the most delicious latte with almond milk for me with a beautiful smile that radiated warmth. Her coffee was made with love and starting the day off with Chantelle’s coffee was the best start to the day. Better than my meds! Thank you, Chantelle, for being so caring and making my stay that much better with your beautiful smile and cheery attitude along with the best tasting coffee! Robina Private Hospital is lucky to have you.

This place is a revolving door. It’s only the same patients in it 365 days of the year. It’s almost like they only half treat you so your always going back for help. After 3-4 admissions my Dr then refused to take me in as an inpatient in a crisis stage because he wasn’t receiving the $450 outpatient appointment fee every month. The food is shocking so be prepared to order Uber eats most lunch and dinners. The group therapy sessions haven’t been changed in years and it’s all on repeat and basic information you could google. The place is full of kids trying to be tiktok famous.Although this would have been a one star if it wasn’t for the nurses Jo, Jackie, Andrea and Kylie. It’s an ok hospital for your first admission. But if you feel you need more help it’s better to look at a different hospital.

The admin staff need a lot of work. Especially for urgent appts. The dementia nurse was also extremely rude on the phone.
