Brake, Tyre & Diesel Service Centre

Took my 2010 Diesel Subaru Forester to Shane and the team for a recurring problem left unsolved by Subaru. Shane managed to get to the bottom of the issue, took the time to explain everything clearly including a plan moving forward whilst charging a very fair price. Highly recommend.

Shane is a capable mechanic that unfortunately took me for a bit of a ride. “Failed” to diagnose a dodgy piston ring causing a compression failure. Leak was diagnosed with really basic testing at another mechanic.Recommended me a premium catch-can which I took on recommendation but the only thing premium about it is the price. Catch can is one of the worst performing on the market. This doesn’t really matter though as these guys installed the unit incorrectly. It immediately fills halfway with oil direct from the engine and doesn’t catch any blow-by at all. Installed too high with poor baffling, needs to be completely removed, repositioned and replaced.Worst part is I asked Shane to not install this when there was a delay in parts as I needed to get back on the road and wanted to fix other issues first but he held onto the ute, installed it the next day regardless and charged me $800 for the service saying he just forgot that I told him not to install it. Wasn’t really left with an option at that point, needed the ute back for work.Very expensive waste of money and bad advice. I hope it was a lack of experience with the vehicle and not dodgy business. Either way the result has been accelerated damage to my engine.Nothing but regrets. Lesson learned.Probably fine to service your daily run around but wouldn’t take a business vehicle here ever again.

Shane took care of my old landcruiser, got the job done and picked up some small issues I'd been having and suggested a solution. Feels like a brand new car now!! Thanks Shane, I'll be back in the future.

As I've used Brake, Tyre & Diesel before on a Toyota Coaster I asked Shane if he serviced petrol cars. Yes" he said. I took my 2017 Subaru Impreza last Thursday for the 125000klm service. I requested that he follow the Subaru service book which he did. He also machined the rear discs and replaced the brake pads. He showed me the indicators of the old pads and I could see they required replacing. All of the Impreza services have been done by Subaru and I have always been unsettled by their attitude. The last service at a Subaru dealership told me that the car had a small oil leak between the diff and the CVT gearbox. I asked Shane if he noticed the leak and he said the car still looked brand new underneath. What Subaru quoted me for a service was more than what Shane charged me for service and brakes. Fabulous service. I'll be taking our other car to Brake
