Absolutely incredible food!! The combination of North African and Japanese flavours was amazing. Using delicious produce the chef creates delicate and balanced flavours. All the staff were super friendly and the service was great, and if you can catch the chef on one of his trips round the restaurant it’s clear he’s super passionate and knowledgeable about the food. If you’re looking for somewhere new and interesting to try in Ballina this is the place to go.

We are local, and have eaten at every place in Ballina. This has been the best dining experience I've had in Ballina to date.The set menu is $120 and is generous. The quality of the ingredients, the care in presentation, the unique and delicious flavours as well as and the serving sizes make it a really beautiful experience.The Moroccan bread and condiments that come with it are TO DIE FOR.If you're not willing to pay $120, then the a la carte menu is very reasonably priced - a main for $28 is excellent value. Plus, it is BYO.Service is good! Given this restaurant is so new, of course it will take a little time to 100% nail it. My feedback would just be that a little more knowledge about the menu is needed from staff. However, the Chef himself came and explained most dishes to us as they were served, which was really, really nice.The Desserts were amazing.High recommend, will be back and will be recommending to anyone visiting the area. Keep it up and thank you!

The perfect fusion of North African and Asian cuisine. A vibrant tapestry of modern and ancient flavours that leave you in anticipation of the next dish. You can taste the love that has gone into this food with the inspiration being drawn from Dan the head chef/co owners heritage, upbringing and family. Each mouthful comes with its own layers and sensations that seem so complex for such humble ingredients.The food is fresh and exquisite, the service passionate and the ambience honest.I am a self proclaimed foodie and have the resumé to back it up having eaten virtually everywhere in the region.Laya sets a new standard for fine dining in Ballina. The venue is intimate so I highly recommend you book in advance. It is BYO so grab a bottle from the bottle shop just up the street before you go. Try the $125 chefs tasting menu its flawless.

I have dined at Layla a few times now and we always leave feeling so welcomed into the restaurant, the food is incredible and I always leave, looking forward to the next visit. They cater very well for gluten free and nut free patrons also. Highly recommend! Please support this local business.

We loved our meal and whole experience at Layla. The food and service were amazing! Every dish was incredible. Lots of GF options and also BYO! Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes

I could not fault the food and service here and that is rare for me. Amazing, interesting flavour combinations and our waitress was so friendly and helpful. Service with a smile goes a long way. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Thank you!
