Griffin Aikido

After discovering this hidden gem 10 years ago I’ve loved watching my older son grow up in this supportive and safe environment and learning such an amazing life skill. Now my youngest has started aikido with Griffin Aikido and it’s been amazingly helpful for him to learn a safe way to get his 7 year old energy out.Sensei Rob could not be more caring and supportive of his students. Also a little bit magic if the end of class meditation minutes are anything to go!All in all I can’t recommend Griffin Aikido enough.

Griffin Aikido is a true gem, right in the heart of Blackwood. We have been sending our 8 year old son to classes for over 2 years and we have found Sensei Rob and his team to be welcoming and professional, honestly they are inspirational. We also sent our son and 11 year old daughter to the Griffin Aikido vacation programs this year. Our kids not only learn how to defend themselves and others, but more so, at a deeper level, they are learning how to be powerful in a calm, caring and considerate way... I have no hesitation in recommending Griffin Aikido and I even hear that more programs in Aikido, dance and music might be around the corner... :)

I have been involved with many martial arts clubs over the years and found this one to be very positive, friendly and welcoming. Rob is a highly skilled instructor and takes the time to patiently work with every student to gradually learn the subtleties and physical attributes of this complex martial art.

My energetic, healthy child loves her Aikido classes with Sensè Rob. There’s a lovely ratio of kids ages & experience. I Highly recommend Griffin Aikido in Blackwood.

This is a fantastic Dojo in the heart of Blackwood. Sensi Rob is fantastic with the students, wrangling a bunch of 7-13 year olds takes a certain level of skill!The students learn all of the disciplines to be successful in this martial art, providing them the skills to negotiate their way into the future, whilst learning to be respectful, attentive and intuitive with their training partners, friends and family.

Such a great Aikido dojo. Sensei Rob is an excellent teacher and really understands how to pass on his knowledge to students. I have trained there for years and now my kids are training there too. If you or your kids want to learn a non aggressive approach to martial arts and self defense, in a safe and encouraging environment, then you should really pay Griffin Aikido a visit and give it a try.

Highly recommend for kids wanting to try a martial art. Rob is attentive, inclusive, encouraging & fun. Akido has been a great opportunity for my kids to grow their self discipline, practice working with others & experience guided meditation. They look forward to their classes & have lots of fun!

Rob is such an attuned instructor. He is patient, kind and fun with the kids, and facilitates a respectful environment, where each participant is valued and encouraged in their differing skill levels and experience. Both my children have enjoyed his classes - for learning Aikido (and are in awe at what Rob can do!), as well as being part of a group that is helping them learn larger life skills and awareness of their bodies and minds. Highly recommend!
