Very nice decor, well service. Introduced the menu nicely. We had the roti for entree, crispy but pretty greasy. Taste good though. Then we had the thai salad with crispy barramundi , the tangy from the pineapple are pretty good. Pea sauce broccoli salas are the best, it’s so refreshing. The dumpling with the tom kah sauce are very unique, really rich and creamy.Had the Vietnamese coffee , not overly sweet, but also not really taste the coffee either. But it was a really awesome experience here

We were invited to Rice Paper Scissors tonight a restaurant I have previously experienced at their sister venue. I was surprised at how crazy busy it was of a Monday night, their customisable five dish share menu is clearly working wonders. We essentially made this a 7 dish menu by adding two desserts. I believe this put the food menu at $95 for two and for that amount I wasn’t overly full though there were certainly some standout dishes. I also definitely recommend the Great Leap Forward cocktail which was really refreshing. For me the must orders are the delectable tuna cracker and citrus cured coconut snapper with crispy wonton crackers. Both of these were extremely flavoursome and absolutely bloody delicious. I could have eaten them all day. Overall the other three dishes we tried weren’t in the same ballpark so it was unfortunate we started with those two as the remainder just couldn’t measure up and left me feeling a little disappointed in comparison

Fitzroy never disappoints and Rice Paper Scissors works well to diversify the cuisines available.Loved the sharing option where everyone got to try a little bit of everything. Flavours were bomb and the portions mean you don’t leave feeling hungry. In fact we were all too stuffed to even try dessert.Great place with a great atmosphere. Good drinks options (alcoholic and non alcoholic) on offer! Definitely recommend!

It’s a big fat yes from me! It was a feast and concert of flavours and we all loved it.We started with the king fish crackers and the Thai deviled eggs and I would have happily ordered another portion. We then had the coconut snapper ceviche, delicious, the Burmese tea leaf salad and the fresh and zesty broccoli salad. Tea leaf salad is one of our favourite Burmese dishes, and my Burmese partner lamented that they couldn’t be more generous with the tea leaves, which seemed a little bit of an afterthought in this version, but it was simply nice to see it on a menu in Australia at all—thumbs up even so for a tasty dish but with minor room for improvement—our Australian friends love the unusual flavour of the fermented tea leaves when we serve the dish at home, so the chefs shouldn’t shy away from using more authentic quantities! All in all this was very enjoyable dining and I wish they had another branch in South Melbourne. Highly recommended.

This was an absolute delight. Amazing banquet with the rendeng curry and those little pork pockets being the highlight - the service though, now that was outstanding. They squeezed me and my friend in with no booking on a friday night, absolutely lovely staff. The atmosphere was on point too - I’m usually not a fan of Asian fusion but these peeps do it right, also, you will leave so damn full.We got 2 cocktails, 2 beers, and 5 dishes and it was $160 (not including tips) and the value was all there.

Asian fusion finger licking tongue tinkling food. Food from south-east Asia like Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Burmese and few others. Its refreshing, super tasty food. The banquet selection is pretty awesome with generous amount of food specially in a group. The drinks list is superb with cocktails obviously with an Asian twist. One of the best Asian Fusion food one can find in Melbourne.

Delicious!! Plenty of vegan options, even a vegan crème brulee! The sticky tofu was so so good. We mopped up every bit of the sauce. Good customer service.

Highly recommend for work events/lunches. I booked the cocktail making class and lunch banquet for my team end-of-year lunch and it was excellent! Due to lockdowns, this is the first time the team has been together in one spot all year. The event was run by Vin who was exceptional in keeping up the energy in the room, sharing his knowledge and guiding us expertly through the cocktail making process. It’s the best team event we have had yet and that wouldn’t have been possible without Vin and lovely team at Rice Paper Scissors.

Pretty well perfect dinner experience. Every dish was outstanding, starting with the oysters with a slightly chilli dressing. They made the most of the tofu and fish and all the dressings were excellent. Service was fast and attentive and sitting at the bar gave a lot of cocktail making entertainment. High on the list for a return visit.
