If you love Greek food, then this authentic Crete family owned resturant will leave you feeling content like a cat in a field of catnip. What a wonderful place to eat. Great service and price, fresh authentic Crete cooking and wine-what else does one need? We had the calamari and prawn entrees, Psito and Soutzoukakia for mains with Baklava and ice-cream for dessert. All meals were shared between two and It was a lot of food! Luckily, wine and beer were on hand to wash it down. If you're in Hobart this place is a must-do. You won't regret it!

A wonderful dining experience, not only was the food delicious, very tasty, ample serving size but it was lovely to meet the owner behind this authentic Greek cuisine. Was nice to hear his story and see the passion he has for his restaurant and giving customers a taste of his homeland. Cheers Richie

My family and I went here a few days ago to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, the service by the waiter/owner??? left much to be desired. He was very impatient and un accommodating to the members of our table, while being noticeably pleasant, polite and approving to the other tables where he took orders (We have our guesses why). We felt really slighted, however, the young waitress on the shift, tried her best to improve the atmosphere. The pastitsio, dakos and mousaka were delightful, but the lamb in the gyros, though home style in taste, was not very tender and the pita was terribly burnt.

I enjoyed a delicious meal of calamari,chicken & lamb gyros & traditional Greek salad tonight at Filoxenia. We were given a warm welcome by the owners. You could tell it was a family run business. They take pride in serving traditional Greek food along with great service.

We had our valentines dinner here yesterday. Their gyros roasted lamb was amazingly delicious. But, we ordered another chicken curry which was just the opposite, couldn’t finish it, haha. Whatever, the deserts are great in taste as well. You need to book appointment before going, though we didn’t have any. Still they managed to grab a table for us. The restaurant people were awesome and welcoming. Menu prices including beverages are pretty high. Decorations are eye catching.

I get nervous about going new places sometimes but the staff here made me feel very welcome and were very kind which i appreciate a lot. Food very good, decorations very pretty. Would definitely come back with my friends and family

What a wonderful restaurant. Excellent staff and service, very attentive. The food was great and really authentic. Highly recommend if you are in Hobart.
