Liz and James are great teachers and even better people! They break down the dance routines really well and create an enjoyable and relaxed learning environment, which makes you want to come back an learn more! You wont be disappointed.

So grateful that I discovered Melbourne Latin Dance! As a 30+ person who has never done a dance lesson once in my life, I was pretty anxious about starting Samba classes, however Liz has been incredible at putting my mind at ease and teaching in a way that is non-invasive, clearly-communicated, methodical and precise. Would highly recommend to anyone considering learning Latin dance :)

I signed up for a bachata intermediate course with MLD and approaching towards the end of the term, I must say I’m really happy I did so! The quality of the lessons and emphasis on teaching the techniques correctly is only surpassed by how friendly and supportive Liz and James are. I highly recommend this school!

I've really enjoyed the classes here at Melbourne Latin Dance. James and Liz are awesome teachers and they create a fun and safe dance environment.I also appreciate their focus on teaching us the right techniques and foot work for each dance style; as well as their patience when they need to demonstrate each dance moves over and over again till we understand how to do it. In complimentary to this, the workshop fundamentals really helped refine the way you dance.They were also flexible when my partner and I needed to change one of our dance classes to another class and were very accommodating with the private lessons that we booked. Thank you Liz and James!

Do not go anywhere else! Here is why:- Technique: Liz & James teach technique in a manner that means you end up feeling confident in your ability to really dance, not just memorise moves. No one in Melbourne I've found teaches technique in a more digestible way. It also means you won't injure yourself (or anyone else) in class or out in the world of social dancing.- Term Structure: The 8 week course means you build and retain skills that don't disappear, you bring joy and movement to your work week and you get to know people. I have seen people, myself included, totally transform their technique over 8 weeks - you don't have to already be 'a dancer' to start.- Community: There is a genuine community vibe here, I have made some amazing friends, and Liz and James foster this community by holding events and dinners, and caring so much about everyone who attends. It's safe and inclusive, and equally suitable for singles or couples. (I spent too long waiting for a friend/partner to attend with me - I wish I had joined years ago)It's not an exaggeration to say that my life has transformed for the better since attending my first class here a year ago. What was I doing before I was dancing? Something boring.So rant over - just do it!<3

James and Liz are great teachers. They are very friendly with great a sense of humour but are serious in teaching. They both have a high attention to detail with good concepts in the technicalities with each of the moves and steps.The workshops are also great and really helped in breaking down the technical side of the dancing and getting through the drills.This is my first time ever doing a dancing class and James and Liz made it an enjoyable learning experience,Fun and friendly environment! Highly recommended.

Such a fun and friendly group of women to dance with. Liz is a fantastic teacher; she was especially great at incrementally breaking down the technicalities of each move for a beginner like myself.
