Absolutely terrible refill service, the last 3 refill attempts haven’t gone smoothly at all. We are on a scheduled delivery service and every 3 months. The last 12 months I’ve been dealing with failed deliveries (at least 3 in a row each time) leaving us to run extremely low on gas - less than 1/6 tank in our last remaining cylinder. I’m experiencing this again right now with 3 more attempts at this delivery. I don’t want to run out of gas, like I don’t want to run out of fuel??? And not to mention the customer service has been abrupt and defensive - I simply just want to not have to worry about running out of gas.Thank fully I’ve been checking after each “delivery” to confirm it hasn’t actually happened - because I’ve received no communication from Elgas to say it didn’t occur.

Ordered and paid for a cylinder. Was advised I would be contacted prior to delivery. Instead a delivery driver arrived one Saturday morning, jumped the fence and damaged the garden. The next day I received an official communication advising my delivery would be arriving the next day. Time to review the system. Highly unprofessional.Edit: Feb 2023Service seems to have improved but still expensive. Turnaround times could be quicker as it seems to take up to a week for delivery.

We were with Elgas and ran out of gas on a Saturday morning. We called straight away, and Elgas told us on Saturday we would receive a delivery Monday, nothing arrived. We waited until Tuesday, still nothing, so call them on Tuesday, and we're told delivery would be Wednesday now. Was home all Wednesday and still no delivery so we called again and were told this time the delivery would be Friday. I called another supplier who delivered the very next day and we're cheaper.

Absolutely disgusting service! We have a gas leak and reported it on Thursday - it is now Saturday! (We have no hot water, and cannot use the gas stove). After 7 phone calls and being abused by one of the people on the phone - we have contacted a private gas fitter to come and look at the tanks. He has advised us that the tanks have been put in the wrong place, and are illegal - he is now having to move the tanks before he can fix the leak. We have been here for 25 years and have had nothing but trouble from this company. The only reason there is one star because I had to put one in - there should be a system where you can put minus scores in - because this company would have received a - 5.

Totally new customer paid my gas over the phone and yes GAS is the key word here 1 week later get 2 bills in the mail 1 bill for excessive delivery charges of 200 bucks for 2 45kg tanks that come on the same truck and another bill for 200 bucks for service charges so the True cost of 2 x 45kg tanks is 600 bucks so totally deceptive conduct in not telling the customer the true cost of purchasing gas from them.

They have a little trick of saying sorry with crediting accounts. Then they take the credit away and try to tell you it was never there. They are thieves. Stay away.Urgent delivery" means more than four days. The response? "Just hook up some BBQ gas until we get there."Well as you can see Elgas I paid the $83 (I don't own a BBQ) and this is my setup and if my house burns down - well.Oh - and it gives me enough for some hot water from the tap and the stove top. Looks like another two days of cold showers at least.Thank you Elgas for being a prompt and caring business."

Shocking service. We have been out of gas for almost 3 weeks now, they came a day no one was home and never informed me, therefore rescheduled my order, order was being pushed back constantly. I rang customer service every day to try resolve the issue. They told me they didn't know when the delivery was going to happen. I was told I would get a phone call but never did. I rang every single day this week and offered to pay the outrageous $80 for next day delivery. I was told not to worry as my delivery would defo be there the next day. I took a day off today to ensure I would be home to secure the delivery. I rang today, was told I would get a call back to track " the order. 3 hours later I got a call back to confirm it would be here today. I'm still waiting. Brutal service!!!!! Shocking customer service team who can't communicate between themselves never mind the customers."

I’ve been with Elgas for 10+ years and on tanker delivery, regularly ran out of gas due to the delivery dates being pushed out consistently.Swapped to tank exchange and worked for a while. Experienced an instance of running out of gas in both, called for an urgent replacement and was advised 3-5 days normal delivery and with a charge of $80+ they could get it here in 3days. I live within 7 mins of the business (so close) and no support could be offered earlier.Called origin, they could get someone here tomorrow to refit and provide gas.Would not recommend due to poor quality of customer service. When it’s all you do guys, you should do it much better than this and take care of your customers when they need it.

We signed up with El Gas (residential) 2-3 weeks ago. Upon signing up, we were never told about the service charge. Today received an invoice for +-$100, with a due date in 3 weeks (22nd Feb)!Sat on the call with them waiting for 50 minutes, then spoke to a lady for about 10. She said when we setup our account, we should have known we'll get a service charge, yet i pointed out that nobody told us & asked her to point out to me where on my account docco was it said this was a fee to expect?She couldn’t point it out to any docs, even whilst logged into El Gas acc online. I asked if they record calls because we setup our online account together with a consultant online. She kept saying it’s explained on the current invoice issued today and what it’s for (they maintain cylinders etc) & can't see who setup our account. So I asked can El Gas then just issue any invoice as they feel like and say they doing this or that, then expect us to pay it within 3 weeks time?She had no answer, instead kept saying what the charge is for and offered to put a note on our account that we might pay it a week late, but she can’t guarantee if El Gas won’t come take the cylinders away from 22nd Feb until the point we pay late, which we’ll then be liable for a charge to get it back! Eventually got frustrated having a conversation going in circles with her & dropped the 1 hour call...Went back to original signup email & found the Service charge listed there - fair enough - We lived, We learnt! My fault not knowing...HOWEVER, no excuse for poor customer service, waiting for an hour and lady couldn't even simply say check your signup email? Worse yet, which company issues you an invoice out of the blue & expects you to pay it in 3 weeks?Small invoice, agreed, yet not so small when you purchase a new home & are flat broke!El Gas are Sh1t in my opinion...

Used these guys for years, prices sky-rocketing far beyond what other companies have.Returned bottles and asked for a refund of bottle rental as I just paid it and got denied.Now support a smaller company KLM and they're roughly half the price for a 45kg bottle and rental is much less.Support small local businesses.
