We had the best time at shoal bay SUP! The transparent kayak is a must-do. I’ve never done anything like that before and it is awesome being able to see the sea beneath you! Very well priced for two people also. Rod was so friendly and when we asked him to take a photo of us he was more than happy to.

Rod was a great host, a full hour on the kayak and SUP for the kids and very reasonably priced. Made sure the kids were safe and competent on the water before leaving them to paddle solo. Highly recommended

My friends and I had a lovely time doing stand-up paddleboarding with Shoal Bay SUP & it was one of the highlights of our trip :) The communication was great; the instructor was supportive; and, it all comes at a pretty good price! Shoal Bay SUP is without doubt the best place to learn how to use a Stand-Up Paddleboard. Rod’s boards are very stable, track well through the water, and his instruction is straight head and easy to comprehend. Knees, then feet, then lift up the oar as you stand up while looking at the horizon. Then place the oar in the middle of the board and use it to get your centre of balance and stop the wobbling (which will disappear after a short while, or become less noticeable). After that, everything else is a breeze! Best tip: don’t look at the water and board in front of you. Look straight ahead. I managed not to fall in once all while paddling one-eyed because suncream had run down my forehead and into my left eye! Shoal Bay is relatively calm, with no huge surf to deal with (powerboats are a different story though!) or strong breezes. Hence ideal for getting a hang of SUP basics.

Fantastic SUP session last weekend with Shoal Bay SUP! Rod was super friendly, very patiently instructing our small group before we headed out on the water. We had a lot of fun with everyone successfully mastering standing & paddling. Rod even took some great photos of us all. We had gorgeous weather & just a light breeze (tip-book a morning session when it’s not windy!)Highly recommend these guys, book it in you will have a ball!!
