My family and I have been going to this restaurant since it was open in dixon house food court, We quickly became regulars because of the AMAZING food and service, and this restaurant became a significant part of my childhood. after dixon house food court closed down and so did the restaurant, we were devastated. Considering how much the whole family loves the food and the always amazing service, we were so happy to discover their new restaurant in newtown!! Today we went back for the first time since dixon house and it brought back so many fond memories. The food was absolutely delicious like always, I’m constantly trying new restaurants all over sydney and I’ve never found anything as good as this place. While waiting for the food, the delicious aroma from the kitchen fills the restaurant and makes you even hungrier. The salt and pepper tofu/prawns are the best i’ve ever had, the batter is SO flavourful, perfectly crispy and they’re generous on toppings. The pork and chive dumplings were extremely satisfying and filled the craving. They were fresh, crispy on one side and SUPER juicy. The sizzling dishes are a staple here with a very wide variety of choices. We got the sizzling chicken with garlic sauce and it did not disappoint! Last but not least, The service is TOP TIER. the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and have not changed since their restaurant opened. If you’re looking for a great, authentic restaurant, this is the place for you!

We have been coming to this restaurant regularly for more than a year now; and every time we leave the place feeling very very satisfied! The food is amazing especially the steam fish! We highly recommend this dish! : )

Pork chive dumplings ($14.8) - we asked for pan-fried and received boiled ones, but they were pretty good! Ten huge dumpling (some of the biggest I've seen), juicy filling, but I will say the skins are a bit thick for my liking so the pleat area was slightly doughy.Salt and pepper flounder ($26.8) - delicious! Very good-sized fish and the seasoning was on point - aromatic with white pepper, fried onions and shallots.

Stumbled across this fantastic restaurant that is unassuming yet pumping out incredible dishes. The dumplings were some of the best. Quick service, almost too many options but very happy with what we ordered. Also entertaining to watch dumplings being made

Nice vibe, Nice service, the foods are very authentic. Highly recommend Dumpling in Hot & Spicy, Pork Wonton and Steam Egg Custrd Bun. (Btw, the granny is so lovely. Just feel like im in my hometown in this restaurant)

I've been looking for this place for 2 years now, if I didn't read the reviews I wouldn't know this was the Sizzling & Hot Pot Kitchen from Dixon St food court.I went in with my Mom today was super excited. Auntie Lisa still remembers me soon as I walked in!!! It was good seeing you again.Food still taste as good as I can remember and staff always friendly.We left the restaurant with a happy tummy, definitely it will not be our last visit. Will come back again.

This is the best Chinese Sizzling restaurant in all of Australia.They used to be located in Dixon St underground and now they have their own restaurant in Newtown.I have been a customer for many years and I can say this place have the best food, and the portions are big and filling, I will bring all my friends and family to eat here.
