Lake Barrine
A wonderful place to have lunch, Lake Barrine sits on the World Heritage listed Wet Tropics, in the Crater Lakes National Park. Beautiful views and memorable boat tours can be had at this ancient volcanic lake.

I had no idea that crater lakes even existed in Australia but this was really interesting and in a beautiful part of the country

There is the Teahouse and a beautiful garden that blends well into the crater view. The path around the lake is well maintained. A cruise is available, we done it last time.

Lovely crater lake, great tea house with relaxing view and award winning scones. We always stop on our way to or from the Atherton Tablelands. Can often spot a pelican or two. There's a lake cruise which well worth doing.

We did 5km walk around Barrine lake. This rainforest has good variety of wild life. (Un)Fortunately we met about 5-6 feet long black snake (not sure what type). And 1km later there was another baby one. My girlfriend is affraid of snakes, probably her screaming has scared them away for a while :D Anyway good way to spend time in stunning forest and maybe get over the fears:) cheers!

Lake Barrine
Very expensive. If you want scones and coffee bring your bank manager to organize a loan. All food is expensive so not the sort of place you would frequent. Boat trip around the lake was so expensive we did even entertain going on. We're local and if they were more reasonable with their current exorbitant prices we would probably have frequented the Cafe.

The walk around the lake takes 1.5hr at a moderate pace. Love listening to the rainforest sounds here. Great place for bird watching

Lake Barrine
This is a sizeable freshwater lake in the crater of an old volcano. There's a lovely teahouse on one side, and they make great Devonshire teas, amongst other things.Great place to stop off for a quick bite to eat.
