So nice to have a new venue in Melbourne CBD with capacity for a large group. The entrance is large and fitted out well, perfect for those events that require a decent size registration area. The internal venue has many options floor plan wise, it was perfect for our stand up event for 400 - 500pax. Large main bar and capabilities to offer other service bar so guests have plenty of options. Food was great, I've never been disappointed with a food offering backed by Georgina Damn, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Cons - cloakroom is very small, and loading dock is not user friendly, however there is a loading bay on Queen Street which can be used, it;'s just the distance.

We had our wedding at Q events two weeks ago. We are so glad that we chose Q events. Amber and the team was really helpful throughout the event and made the planning process a smooth run. Food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it.

I attended a formal function here and there are number of reasons I am giving a low rating.The lighting is very poor, low sealing and spot light instead of flood made photography almost always impossible.There was nothing to absorb the noise making it very difficult to socialise.All the waiters worked very hard and meals were served hot, however meals were underwhelming and service it self felt rushed. It felt like place was understaffed and people working here were trying to do their best.Higher price for location with less service. Also for a big formal function it was difficult getting in and out of CBD it being a work day.

Dinner service was inattentive to begin: seated at the table for 30 minutes with no wine offered. Followed by clumsy or surly treatment by 4 different servers who: spilt water on the table cloth, poured red wine after twice asking my friend to repeat the words “white wine”, indiscretely and loudly calling out about a special dietary meal several times (which arrived after others finished)Food itself was fine for the large scale but you don’t enjoy it so much when the dinner plate is literally slammed down with both hands unsmilingly both they march off. Were staff pulled in off the street? They clearly were not interested in food or wine or manners.The decor was spoiled by the storage of spare chairs, equipment and junk, all lit up behind see-through curtain.

We had the most wonderful time at the 'Q Events by Metropolis' brand new event space last night. The venue was beautiful, hi-tech and housed many spaces in which to hold functions. Certainly the finest function space we've ever seen. A shout out to Charlie the DJ/Sax player and Karina Flow the gifted dancer, to the bar staff and wonderful food servers who always had a smile on their face. Lastly, to the vision of General Manager Phillip Williams and his Team of dedicated event staff who saw the project through to completion. Thank you and well done everyone.

The Metropolis Events team are always fab to work with! We hosted our Christmas party at Q Events and the venue space was stunning. The venue team were super accommodating and easy to coordinate with. Thanks for helping make our event such a success.
