Ricks doors customer service seemed good upfront in person. However, once we left the store waiting for prices and availability of products, that where it ended.We followed up twice with them waiting to hear and nothing. Its clear they dont want customers.Go somewhere else.

Dodgy business. Did NOT even respond to a request for rectifying their defective work.Edit: Responded today. Hopefully the defects can be rectified. That's all we want. Will update again.

They're not that good to deal with. Extremely slow to respond when you make an enquiry. The quality certainly wasn't very good - I believe we received the junky Hume doors when we we're looking for quality. No doubt time will tell - if we every require some doors again we'll be looking elsewhere.

A custom built Sliced Pacific Maple (SPM) solid core door 2020mm x 1480mm was ordered through Ricks Doors Pty Ltd. The job required joining two off-the-shelf Hume SPM 2020 x 740 solid core doors(approximate value $400 retail) with top and bottom rails replaced to cover the full width. The total cost for product and delivery was $1349.69. The join of the two doors was supposed to have been a neat V Joint for aesthetics. The purchase price included an additional $250 for handling and delivery from Capalaba QLD to Toowoomba QLD. When the door was unpacked it was shop soiled with sooty hand marks, but most problematic, both faces were contaminated with glue in the form of finger prints and wipe marks that are embedded into the grain and highly visibly along the join. The glue cannot be sanded out without destroying the grain of the veneer. Subsequently the product cannot be used for clear finishing without refacing with new timber. Rick's Doors are required by consumer law to cover the cost of transport for repair, replace or return (approx $500 for repair or replace in addition to original transport cost of $250) . Their representative has refused to cover cost of transport but has offered $100 towards local repair which is estimated at $500 for material and labour. We have found their product, service and attitude very disappointing.
