After some fairly disappointing (and very expensive) dining experiences in Esperance, we were relieved to finally get a decent feed! We got the grilled whiting, prawns, squid rings, scallops and chips and everything tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly (no chewy squid rings)! Serving sizes were perfect (no leftovers but not feeling sickly full). Prices are more expensive than a “run of the mill” fish and chip shop, but food was fresh and better than other dining establishments for less than half the price. Have read the bad reviews - really not warranted based on our experience.

If you are after the standard fish and chips that are fast and greasy, this isn't the restaurant for you. They take pride in what they serve and it is amazing. All the food is fresh and taste really good. Unfortunately they were out of oysters so we are going back to try again. If they are still out of oysters we won't be disappointed. The scallops were our second choice and they were really nice.

Service staff were wonderfully friendly and attentive. Had the gummy shark and fish face plate for $24. Crumbed fillet itself was $16 which I thought was quite pricy. Tasted nice but for the price I expected more than just a few seafood bits sliding around on a plate, some chips and salad would have been nice. Tartare sauce clearly was placed into dish much in advance as the top layer had already developed a yellowish coloring. Seafood chowder was lovely and served piping hot. All in all nice but I would not consider good value for money.

Friendly, efficient, service & staff. The best fish & chips & cooked just right. The scallops were beautiful, the prawns were crisp & the squid rings were tender. They were all battered & very tasty. The restaurant was fully booked & apparently that's not uncommon. People were still coming in for take away. Will definitely come back here.

Stumbled upon this place. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food was amazing. Highly recommend the seafood chowder it was amazing and the scollops and king prawns were so good too. My partner said the whiting fish had quite a few bones in so that’s something to be aware of but didn’t make it any less delicious!

Superb food. They were having to train new staff (cannot be easy) and still served us in good time. Highly recommend going here for good quality fish and chips. Get the face plate as an add on too!

Fish Face Takeaway and Restaurant
This is no ordinary fish and chip shop! With a restaurant attached, it provides food of exceptional quality. We had shark, prawns, scallops and squid and they were all fresh and flavoursome. The potato cakes were huge and the chips were delicious. The presentation was also indicative of the quality of the product. Friendly staff to top it all off. Thanks, Fish Face!!!

We went there because our friends and Esperance visiter centre recommended it.We are recommended this place and you have to book in for the weekend as the place is quite small but you can do take away anyway.The food was so so delicious and the staff very friendly. Especially mushroom chips it was amazing!!! Very recommended this restaurant when you visit Esperance and it very close to RAC accommodation.

We got take away last night and went and ate it down by the water and watched the lights come in at the harbour. Seafood was excellent and the crumbed was delicious and crunchy. The gentleman in the shop was so patient and helpful explaining us NSW people the different fish. The whole staff were friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Came in as they were opening and was served with a smile.We were a part of a group and ordered a fair amount from the menu.Had Snapper, Nanny, scallops, prawns, squid rings and salt pepper squid.Every single dish was amazing, the fish was the freshest I’ve bought and the batter cooked perfect. Oil was fresh. Just awesome.Hands down, best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Ever.
