Tokyo Bird is an incredible establishment and I’m shocked it took me this long to find it. Great selection of whiskey, snacks were delightful and the staff Yoshi & Sonya were so incredibly knowledgeable and informative. If I’m not going here on a weekly basis from now on I’ll be shocked. Keep up the great work team, my new favourite bar in Sydney.

This is one of my favourite eateries.If you like skewers this is the place for you. My favourites here are the wagyu skewers, the sausage skewers and the Karage chicken. The beer is great and so is the sake. If you like Japanese whiskeys they have a great selection. You really need to book any day of the week. Always busy. I always meet up at the Keg and Brew before hand.

Lovely spot for an intimate catch up. Attentive service and the food was great except our scallops felt a little undercooked. Had a tasty cocktails. This spot being small and popular, make sure you arrive on time as they strictly keep to booking times, which also means you get your table on time if you are a later booking.

Nice cozy spot in Surry hills, filled with all sorts of Japanese drinks and whiskeys. The skewers from the wagyu to chicken thighs were cooked nicely and salted and seasoned. A nice spot, worth a visit.

The place is very nondescript and hard to find but the atmosphere is very cozy if not a bit warm for my liking but it feels true to the izakaya vibe. The food came so quickly I couldn't believe it. I really liked the salmon skewers, scallop gazpacho and the calamari the best. It's a bit crazy that the whole place only has the one waitress. But the service was still good!

Through the laneway entrance, Tokyo Bird transported us back to an Izakaya in Shinjuku San-Chome.First we love the super chilled Asahi Super Dry draft beer, it’s so much tastier than the bottled ones.All the dishes we ordered were really tasty. If I had any quibbles the Calamari was just average but hugely helped by the wasabi mayonnaise. Without it, the taste was meh. It also wasn’t tempura but more like Italian/Thai Calamari Fritters. Another one was that the Gyoza was served drenched in sauce! I like the crispiness of pan-fried Gyoza and dip them in the sauce myself. Serving them in sauce just made the Gyoza soggy and much less appealing! I would certainly ask for the sauce to be served on the side. The Agedashi Tofu was essentially deep fried tofu skewers in sauce so they are not really Agedashi Tofu, but they were really tasty.All in all, it was a great experience for us and we were lucky to get a table easily. Staff were attentive and we didn’t wait too long for our food.

The food was amazing!!!!I love the gyoza and cauliflower! The fried chicken also very good….One time only order 4 items, so the food won’t get cold, it’s very good and sweet.And the bartender and staff were so nice!I would love to go every week, I’ve already miss the food and vibe!!!

One of my all time favourite Japanese izakaya and whiskey bars. Good solid selection of sakes and Japanese beers as well but the whiskeys are really something else...The staff are extremely friendly and are offering an amazing range of cocktails. Prices are as expected slightly expensive but the atmosphere is close and cosy in this place. Always a delight coming back. Best book unless if you like to sit by the bar

Great eatery close to central station. Don't miss the main entrance down the small road.They have a safe variety of Japanese izakaya skewers and nibbles. Just a tad pricey but to be expected for this area.It's not a large menu but has all the staples great flavours in skewers. Personally prefer and recommend the heart skewers and the skin.They have pretty interesting drinks menu and seem to have a big focus on roku gin mixes.Decent amount of tables with bar seating. Went on a Thursday night and it was semi full can imagine it gets busy on weekend. Book online if you have to.

Can’t believe we waited 30 mins to have just warm and burnt skewer:) never bothered to write any review before but Tokyo bird deserves my first one star review :)Staff are toooooo nice to provide if they can spell the word ‘customer service’Wonder how ppl fill their tummy in 90 min when the food arrives after 30 min and they are just warm to swallow:)Not like I won’t recommend to friends, it’s that I would suggest my friend not to go in their life time such a overrated restaurant to have in Sydney
