YHA Port Fairy

Had a great time staying at the YHA at Port Fairy! It's in a heritage building which makes it a pretty cool stay. It's close to the wharf and the main town, making it easy to navigate the place. Jess was most helpful throughout my journey, from communication pre-arrival, helping me with early check-in, and heaps of recommendations and local tips that were great in trip planning. There's also a very friendly dog on the property, which is just a massive bonus to me :)The WiFi doesn't reach the room, but didn't really matter to me

Awesome hostel to stay at! Lots of character to the place and we had the comfiest bed from our whole trip so far! Kitchen and lounge rooms were never too crowded unlike most hostels we are used to. Not the most flash place to stay but it is a hostel and it is cheaper than other accommodation options and we thoroughly enjoyed our short visit there!

YHA portland is the oldest YHA in Straya! It's a lovely place next to the main street, so easily accessible. Plenty of street parking available. The building is lovely with a wonderful courtyard. We stayed in the family room that can easily accommodate 6, with enquire bathroom. Clean and beautiful. There is games room where our teenage girls enjoyed themselves to a game of pool, board games and puzzles. Plenty of books too. The kitchen is huge, but depends on people staying there to be considerate to share the 2 fridge and 1 chest freezer. Jennifer and the staff are awesome and very friendly. Always willing to help and share. It's a great place to stay and you can spend your time alone or mingle and chat with all the other guests there too!

We broke down with the car in Port Fairy so we had to stay few days in the hostel. Me and my friend felt like at home almost straight away. Thank you to the two girls working here. The hostel is clean and cozy and in a lovely location. I recommend it.

Jess was brilliant as a host, helping with travel issues when my plane got turned around. She told us of good walks to do and we loved the lighthouse and Shearwater bird colony.She refunded my money when I accidentally paid twice.The beds and room was clean.The kitchen was lovely but would have liked tea/ coffee and milk as a donation.

Beautiful fun hostel! we loved our king w ensuite opening to garden. Great vibe. Great location. Helpful host

Nice hosts, lovely building and a great location.The downside was that it didn’t feel particularly clean… the kitchen was filled with cobwebs under the counter where the pots and pans were kept. Almost every utensil I chose had dead mosquitos or flies in in it (I tried several pots, pans and strainers plus each lid was very grubby). The room was a little dusty and still had the previous guests dirty tissues in the bedside caddy.Wifi didn’t reach the kitchen or dining area so was limited where you could set up to use it.

I love the YHA so much! The staff are so lovely (special shoutout to Jen and Jess!) and the rooms are so cosy! Every room has so much character and it's location is literally perfect! Just a few minutes into town walking, and a few minutes to the beach walking! Love it here so much, definitely coming back ❤️

I absolutely loved my stay at the Port Fairy YHA during New Year's 2022 / 2023 :) Thank you Jennifer & Jessica for your terrific hospitality as well as advising me to visit so many great places around Port Fairy. I'm definitely booking my stay for next month & I've also recommended the YHA to my friends.

I spent 2 nights here over the Easter period. A beautiful old building with great facilities, comfy beds and a fabulous location. I was in a private room which was lovely, shared bathroom was good and there is also a large kitchen, dining area, games room, lounge room and outdoor areas. A wonderful place to stay.
