The Athlete's Foot Indooroopilly

Went here to buy school shoes for the kids. We got amazing service. Efficient and effective. Staff really know their stuff and still made the experience enjoyable for the kids. They also used 'my fit' technology to make sure the kids strides are normal. Plus they give money back to your school if they are part of the program.

I took my 11yo son there to buy a high quality pair of runners for cross country because his feet were hurting after training. The staff member put him on the MyFit machine and advised he needed a high arch shoe. They then brought out the shoes in literally the most expensive to least expensive order. Being clear eyed about this obvious sales technique I still based my decision on my sons sporting needs and the staff member's advice over price and bought a $270 pair of runners, by far the most expensive shoes I'd ever bough my son who goes through 3-4 pairs of shoes per year. The problem was that his feet started hurting even more after training. We then took him to a podiatrist who said the shoes were the exact opposite of what his feet needed. It has left a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth to know that I've wasted $270 on a supposedly professional shoe fitter. The staff member was friendly so I'll bump the review up to 2 stars

The staff were able to fit all three of my children with the correct shoes for their walking/running about. The support and quality of the shoes they were recommended are fantastic and worth the trip to get them fitted correctly. The staff are very friendly and work well with kids.

I came in over a month ago now and completely forgot to leave a review until I saw it in my notes. Hamish was fantastic! A legend even! He knew all that I wanted to know about the shoes I was trying on and was extremely helpful. I'm ashamed to have left this review so late because the people need to know!

I'd visited a podiatrist and been told what shoe to buy, so I knew what I wanted. Although I found the sales assistant helpful in terms of getting the shoes for me, she was very pushy about harvesting my details. Before she'd get the shoes for me to try on and I was sitting down she stood before me holding an iPad and wanted to take my name to see if I'd been there before (I hadn't) and requested my name. When I purchased the shoes I was told that the ability to return the shoes if they were not the right size could only be activated by an email and she also asked for my phone number. It doesn't surprise me another reviewer got spam on their phone. Since I got the shoes I never got an email. They didn't need it, all I have to do is show my docket.There's just high pressure to go on a board that measures your foot pressure and walk along a strip of plastic. Your feet walking are actually filmed while you are doing this and she plays it back to you, but you are never asked or warned about this.Too much pressure for personal details so they can market to you, pressuring you do these electronic measures too. Just refuse to give your details.I also wonder if they take your details to intimidate you into buying as some people get fitted and then go off to DFO or other cheaper shops to get the shoes at a cheaper price...

After visiting several other shops I left The Athlete's Foot happy. There was enough staff on that we were attended quickly, the store was clean bright and tidy, they didn't have loud music playing (I'm HOH), the 3D measuring process was a good starting point and the whole experience was much easier than initially expected.
