Seven Lanterns Sylvania
Visited on Sunday night for a date night with my husband. We enjoyed dishes from the degustation menu. The highlight for me was the Wagyu steak, it was just delicious. Service was friendly and we didn't wait long at all for our food. Definitely recommend here for a date or a small group of friends who want to enjoy a conversation and a good meal. Parking is available on street and is timed, but can be hard to find.

Very friendly staff, accommodating to patrons. The food was absolutely amazing, I enjoyed the cauliflower in curry dish. Got the Korean fried chicken for our main, I would have liked more pickles in it, as they were a refreshing bite to have between chicken pieces. The corn was really cool too. The ice cream and Belgium chocolate mousse for dessert was smooth and not too rich or sweet, so easy to eat.We also liked the music, they were playing covers of popular songs, it was fun trying to figure out what each song was.Overall had a great time!

Let's start by saying I found about this place because my girlfriend loved one of the dishes from her childhood.I walked in without high expectations, I thought, 'Nicky hasn't come here in a long time, maybe it's not as good as she remembers it.'We started with the sumo dumplings. When they came out I looked at how crispy they were and wowww! Probably the best dumplings I've had! Then I thought, if anything, at least the dumplings were amazing!The next dish was Nicky's favourite, the prawns. First I tried the cheese and I thought, 'mmm really good!' Then I tried the cheese with the prawn and the sauce and I thought, 'nah that's it... I can't cook...' It was amazing! I've never had anything like it before- I was sucking on that shell until there was nothing left. I thought, if this is her favourite dish we have reached peak.Our last dish was beef short rib hot pot. I I've had this dish before so I thought it can't be that amazing. But when I tried it, boy I was wrong! You know how people say off the bone? This was actually off the bone! At other places the flavour is watery or bland, but this one packed so much flavour! It was perfect! Then the chef came and showed us how to eat it properly and it was even better!!I had a great experience, the service was the best, can't wait to go back! My girlfriend said 'I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!'

Chose Seven Lantern for my wife’s milestone birthday with close friends. The food was, as ever spectacular, every dish of the degustation menu a clever balance of texture and flavour. David and his fantastic team made the the night one to savour. Highly recommended

5 stars for the food.5 stars for the atmosphere.9 stars for the service. I didn't give it 10 just for the fun of it! But deserves a 10. The young lady that served us has a great sense of humor and understanding of how to please the guests. This is not to take away from anyone else, it's just she stood out the most.Her engagement with us, for me, was fresh and really what is lacking in service based businesses. Great work Isabella (Isabelle?).The owner is always great fun and there to accommodate. Highly recommend.Get the degustation and the warm sake. Can't go wrong.

Probably my favourite restaurant in Sydney. We've gone multiple times and the menu is always sightly different and everything we've eaten is delicious. We even make sure to bring our interstate visitors to show off how good the Sydney food scene is.

Wow. Can't recommend this place enough. Food and service of very high quality. We had the 6 course menu and every dish was absolutely amazing, so delicious! A massive thank you to the owner David who was so welcoming. He introduced himself, looked after our table and made us laugh the entire night. Such a great sense of humour!Looking forward to dining here again!

We had the best dinner here! The food was absolutely delicious as were the cocktails. We got veggie dumplings, Wagyu meatballs (not pictured), cauliflower share plate (to die for!), Wagyu steak, and imperial beef rib hot pot. We loved everything.The waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We were also served by the male chef who was funny, nice and gave lots of advice about the food. We already can't wait to come back. Thank you for a great night.

Went there for the first time tonight… great experience! (Especially for someone with dietary requirements.)My parents went here for NYE and have been a few times since already. I have Crohn’s Disease and associated dietary requirements (largely vegan and onion/garlic free). When there one time they asked the chef if they could accommodate me - they were more than happy/able to whip up some custom dishes for me with a few days notice!When I got to the restaurant, the waitress said the chef had already prepped a few dishes for me based on my requirements/requests. The chef brought them out throughout the night and ran me through the details of each dish - all were super tasty! He even took on my request for vegan protein (tofu), which I’m not sure he normally has in the kitchen by the sounds of it.Beyond the food, the service was very lovely - waitress very helpful, and chef loved a good chat! Definitely recommend.

4.5 starsFood was overall yum! We really liked the ribs hot pot but wish there was more meat.Restaurant was packed and often there was only one or no staff to flag down.
