I took in a ring that other jewelers in the area said would be to difficult to fix and didn't want the liability. Melville Jewellers didn't hesitate, charged a very fair rate, and completed the job in less than a week. They were very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this jeweler for any repairs.

Michael is the nicest guy! Very professional and courteous. He guarantees his works, you'll be totally happy. Fixed my watch's bracelet for a super reasonable fee. Have no hesitation recommending Melville Jewellers.

Don’t take your precious jewellery here! My ring fits but that’s the only positive.... gemstone is chipped after resizing and I’m 100% sure it wasn’t like that when I dropped it off. Pretty disappointed and sad as it’s really damaged the look of the ring. Thankfully it doesn’t have any emotional value! The only error I made was taking my lovely ring in to have it resized. What a load of nonsense w.r.t. photographing a ring! As if you can clearly take a picture of a 1mm chip. In addition, there's a dent in the band but I'm not even too fussed about that. What baffles me is that a ring is actually damaged at a jewellers!

I got a ring resized here on the 21st; I’m giving two stars as it was sized correctly and it was ready by the 22nd. I’m unhappy, however, as I counted at least 5 quite large and visible scratches along where metal was added. Luckily I’m a jewellery design student so I’m able to fix these very easily myself, but it’s disappointing that my ring was left like this when it’s so simple to sand a ring properly. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place and wouldn’t choose to return, and I’ll trust my student skills at repairing this damage over theirs.Edit: after going in and receiving my refund I’m changing my review down to one star. A man I’m assuming is the owner came over and started being very condescending and rude to me and demanding to know if I’m “an expert on polishing” (when the polishing you did was great, it really highlighted all the scratches you didn’t bother to sand out..) and saying it’s “just manners” to call and let him know about his bad work instead of writing a review. Michael, it’s just manners to do your job properly in the first place. I wrote in my original review that I’d be fixing it myself as I don’t trust your shop’s work, so why would I call you about that? There is no way my ring should have been left like this, and no excuse for it. Thanks for the refund but your attitude was horrible and instead of owning up and apologising you attempted to belittle and intimidate me. I would never recommend this joke of a store, no jeweller nor person worth anything would behave this way.

I recently took two bracelets that needed lockets on them fixed. The female sales lady was very friendly and quoted me $145 to have them both repaired, I thought this seemed alot but she also said that they would clean and polish them after they are repaired. When I picked up my bracelets, one had not been fixed at all and just cleaned and the other was the worst repair job I have every had done. When I expressed that I was unhappy with the quality of work the jeweller became very rude and angry. He offered to keep the bracelets and fix them again at an additional cost which I refused. I have tried to wear the bracelets that he claimed to have fixed and it keeps coming undone. Complete waste of money, so I’m now taking both bracelets to Creations jewellers in Fremantle to have them fixed properly.

I had a terrible experience with Michael from Melville Jewellers.I lost two pearls from my beautiful antique engagement ring so took it into MJ to replace the missing pearls. Later MJ sent me a text to say that my ring was ready for collection and that it would cost me $180. I was horrified when I went to collect the ring as the two pearls MJ had replaced were minute and diminished looking and did not match the existing pearls. MJ had completely ruined the look of my beautiful ring!MJ should have informed me before they had started repairs that the replacement pearls would be much smaller and would not match as I would have taken my ring to an alternative jeweller.I told MJ that I wasn’t happy with the repair. MJ suggested I pay for the repair and take the ring away and if I’m still not happy I could return it and they would refund my money.A few weeks passed during which I kept in touch whilst trying to locate some matching pearls to take into MJ for them to replace. I took two larger pearls into MJ but Michael, (the jeweller ) refused to swap them over saying the pearls I brought were the same size as the ones he had installed. This was definitely not the case, even his assistant Fausta agreed with me.I decided to take Michael up on his offer and asked him if he could give me my money back and remove the tiny pearls he had inserted. He refused to do this, his excuse being that because a few weeks had passed he would now have to smash the pearls or heat the ring so much in order to remove the pearls!MJ sent me a text and said I could meet Michael to chat about the ring. I then went to his shop again. It seemed to me that all Michael wanted to was argue. He was so arrogant, I had to walk away. Why did they bother to invite me in to the shop for a chat?In my opinion Michael is either a completely incompetent jeweller or was looking for an excuse not to honour his promise of a refund. When I took the ring to a reputable jeweller they had no problems removing the pearls.Within a couple of days the reputable jeweller had matched up the pearls perfectly and had my ring looking beautiful again at a fraction of the cost.Amazing what a difference a competent jeweller can make.I wish I had read some of the previous negative google reviews and had gone to a reputable jeweller in the first place!

What a terrible experience dealing with such a rude and arrogant man. It takes a lot to ruffle my feathers, but dealing with the owner of Melville Jewellers really upset me. I took a watch that was losing about five minutes a week and asked if he would be able to adjust it. I was asked to leave it for ten minutes. On my return I was told that the battery was fine, but the watch needed a service, which would cost $140. As I had only just purchased it on ebay for just under $1500 I chose to leave it for a while. I had searched unsuccessfully for a particular watch all over Australia to replace one that was very sentimental to me, hence the ebay purchase. I could live with a watch that lost about a minute a day. On my way home I noticed that it had been turned to 12 o'clock, although it was 3.45 pm. I turned around to go back to his shop only to find that it closed at 4pm. I returned first thing the next day to say that I thought that he had forgotten to put the battery back into it. He said that he had put it back , and why had I taken the watch there in the first place? When I said that because it was losing time, his reply was that a watch that is losing time is broken. I now had a broken watch that I couldn't even tell the time on. I then managed to find a watchmaker who only does watch repairs. He told me that the watch didn't need to be serviced, and he sorted it out while I waited. Apparently the wrong" battery was in the watch. He put a new one in for $40 and my watch is working beautifully

I have used this jeweler several times over the past 2 yrs. Today will be last. The man (owner i presume) was extremely rude, sarcastic and seemed to enjoyed bantering when he couldn't find my piece to have repaired the day before. After 3/4 hour later until he finally found the piece their was no apology and was told he would no longer repair my piece which worked to my favour as i found another jeweler $20 less than what i was quoted. His last words to me was WOW" after i said i'd had a nice day until i walked into his shop and was confronted with his arrogance. The lady is nicer :)"

I’ve twice had costume jewellery repaired at this shop. Both times they’ve been quick, friendly and helpful.
