Surf and Sun Surf School

Very friendly, informative instructor and attentive to all members of our group in the surf as far as individual help and looking out for our safety- heaps of fun!

We had a great time today doing our first surfing today.Our coach was good and had good advice when asked, but he could have been a bit more proactive giving feedback or taken a pictures of the group.All in all still worth the visit to surf and Sun School!

Wonderful experience. Had Alex as the instructor and he was very good at making it fun and easy to learn, as well as inspiring confidence.

Alex was my instructor and he was amazing! Super friendly and fun. I'm not new to surfing, but I'm new to Australia so as a solo traveller I booked on to a group lesson to brush up on my skills and to learn about the local beaches. I had such a great time. I learnt all about which places to avoid vs which parts of the beach were best for surfing etc. I was also given tips on how to improve my surfing, and I was told which bad habits I'd picked up (KNEES!!). I've booked 3 surf lessons in total (they do a discount for multi-buys), I plan to return to Middleton beach to get a few more instructed pointers, and to visit Moana beach, their other location, to see what that beach is like.Finally, I also went to visit their shop in town. I had a great experience here too, Chloe was manning the desk and she was very friendly and helpful. She let me try on a few wetsuits and take a look at their surfboards. They sell both new and secondhand items which is great for people like me on a budget!I'd highly recommend surf and sun to any holiday makers or locals!

Surf lesson was awesome , had so much fun. Something I've wanted to do for a long time and was better than expected. the instructor was fantastic

Amazing experience. Amazing staff and service. Boards and wet suits supplied and the instructors are really good at teaching you how to surf and getting you up on the boards and riding waves. I took 4 x exchange students to learn how to surf and they were all up on the boards and riding waves only after a short time into their lesson. They are raving about this experience and said that 'Alex' their teacher was brilliant. Would highly recommend this company for surf lessons and a fantastic experience.

I had a morning session with Alex and two other amazing girls in early September. It was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. It was my first lesson in Australia and, of course, I fell many times but always with a big smile. Alex kept me motivated. It was a great workout. After two hours, I could feel my body working hard.I loved that I was given an ebook to read about surfing before and after class. It is a lovely idea. I highly recommend experiencing the surf vibe with Surf and Sun. It was great fun. I loved the resilience this sport taught me. No matter how many times you fall, always pick up your board and keep trying until you succeed. Thank you for your patience Alex, I really appreciate it.

We had a lot of fun in our first surfing lesson with Chloe, she was great with us and our kids, and the lesson included good quality boards and wetsuits. We will be back!

My partner and I had a surf lesson with Chloe yesterday afternoon. I had a lesson before but hadn't seen any results but yesterday Chloe had both of us up and riding quickly and gave lots of helpful pointers on how to improve. She helped us learn how to pick the right waves, how to correct imbalances, foot positioning, how to direct the board. Honestly such an amazing lesson and well worth the money and time. Thanks Chloe!!!
