Dandos Camping Spot
Large campground with plenty of tables & fire places. Quite a few (over 20) camping spots large enough for a caravan. This place can fill up regularly on weekends & even week days. Unfortunately we found some campers thought they could make as much noise as they wanted regardless of the time of night, so if your looking for a quiet camp site you might want to try else where. Two drop toilets are at this camp ground. A very nice large grass area to lay in the sun or for children to play. Dog's on a lead are allowed here. It is also free camping.

Great sheltered spot, wasn't windy even when Rained. Nice creek. Ok toilets but some people are discussing leaving toilet paper on ground and bags of rubbish in the bush. Follow the rule leave it cleaner than you found it when you arrived and take your rubbish away! It will be a shame forestry shuts the camp site down because people don't respect it. Was very peacefull spot and plenty of room

Stayed for 5 days in this amazing campsite. Amazing landscape with huge trees and a nice stream next to the site. It can get really tricky during rainy season and advisable to camp on higher ground. Will definitely visit again. Cheers

Very well laid out campground. Plenty of spaces for tents and a huge, flat, grassy area for sports. Although the ground is soft and will get very muddy when it rains. The river is very close and easily accessible. There's 2 clean drop toilets. A few hiking trails in dense bushes that might be ok for older kids, but will be challenging for young kids. Every morning you'll see a flock of ducks walk around the campsite. They are surprisingly quite approachable. Sometimes kookaburras fly nearby. Overall a very calm, peaceful campsite. The major drawback for this campsite is the river. The water is slow moving and very shallow. Very brown water. Lots of old trees fell into the river and you could see moss on the rocks so it's slippery to walk on. I've seen better rivers in the bush than this one.Be careful of leeches in the river and the ferns growing nearby. Particularly during and after raining. If you take river water (for cleaning purposes) after it has rained, be sure to check for small leeches.

Better campground than the paid one we stayed at in the area. Great secluded spot with plenty of space, refreshing fresh water creek, bonus points for being dog friendly. Toilet is clean long drop with bench space. It’s VERY QUIET at night! Which is surprising as Australian bush wildlife are typically loud. Were here for busy summer period & even the dogs were quiet. Some areas could be boggy when wet. No phone service at all even with Telstra.Plenty of bugs as it will be out in nature. Watch out for rogue dog poos some irresponsible people left. Keep your wits about you & look out for brown snakes, we found one chilling by the stream on a warm day.

Beautiful, secluded campground, lots of space, drop toilet, no phone service ( drive up the road 5minutes for service ). It is accessible by 2WD but its bumpy and lots of rocks. Dog friendly (watch out for dog poos in the grass). There are few places that you can access the river. No walking trails around, 4WD tracks.Kookaburras, ducks, we have seen a koala and wallabies a bit further away. Its free, no booking.

Great camp ground with fire pits and heat plates. My partner and I intended to stay at Stevensons Falls campground but found out it was closed as we arrived. I knew Dandos was close so we chose to head there instead. The road is pretty rough and there are quite a few pot holes between Stevensons and Dandos so drive slow if you're not in a 4WD.It was comforting to see other campers upon arrival. There were young families with pets and the atmosphere was really nice. It was pretty busy over the weekend but there was plenty of space for everyone. If you want a fire pit with swivel cooker you would probably need to get in early. The drop toilets are kept in pretty good order. Bring your own toilet paper in case theres no more in the cubicle.Enjoy!
