Hahndorf Village
A german colony with a history dating back to 1800s. Handorf is usually quiet during the week days. But it is busy. The town is vibrant and beautiful. The best time to visit would be during the autumn. The red leaves on maple trees make the village picturesque.

Hahndorf is a German village area. Many things to see and shop. Most of the prices in the shop are quite reasonable. There's fruits and vegetables market there too. A lot of restaurants along the streets and many parking place to park our car. Beautiful shops adorning the streets. Well worth our visit.

A unique village of early German settlers.. along Mt Barker Road.. historically significant.. the main street is lined with quaint shops, cafes, restaurants.. parking along the main street and intersecting streets..Popular for buying souvenirs including candles, candy, chocolates.. knives, knits, even a Birkenstock! An IGA for your groceries if you are staying here..Loved the vibe.. very touristy though (so expect packed parking, busy cafes, some wait time as well). The I - Information Centre has a small museum and gift shop as well.. and interestingly a wall listing original owners of all the houses on English St, Church St and Thiel Grove!

Located just 25 minutes from Adelaide, Hahndorf is Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement and still has a strong German flavour most evident in the smallgoods outlets, bakeries, pubs, restaurants and cafes that line the bustling main street. While its proximity to Adelaide makes Hahndorf a perennial favourite as a day trip destination, most visitors wish they had longer to explore all the township has to offer so consider accommodation from the wide range available.

Good break from your normal Adelaide scenery. Lots of souvenir shopping places and eateries. There's a minigolf place too.
