Wallalong House - Hunter Valley Wedding Venue

I could not have imagined a more perfect venue for my husband and I on our wedding day! Wallalong House ticked all the box's for us. A house steeped in history with the most amazing views, room for our friends to stay as well, not to mention the owners who made everything so easy for us :)From the first phone call to our many meetings at Wallalong, Bernie and her husband were fantastic.We will never forget our time at Wallalong and are already hoping to try and book a beautiful weekend away with our bridal party for our anniversary in the coming years ahead. Cant wait XXX

Oh my gosh, let me tell you about my absolute favourite Hunter Valley venue - Wallalong House! I'm a celebrant who absolutely love marrying couples at this venue.This place is seriously impressive. It reminds me of those grand homesteads in Ireland that just ooze charm and character. So much WOW factor- your guests' jaws will be on the floor!First of all, the building itself is just stunning - a mix of Georgian and Victorian architecture that's steeped in history. And the owners, Tess and James, along with their dedicated team, keep the grounds absolutely pristine. You'll find flowers in bloom everywhere you look.One of my favourite things about the venue is that there are plenty of cosy corners to have a good chat or sneak in some private moments. The day beds by the pool are seriously Insta-worthy. Actually, the whole place is full of photo opportunities like the sandstone stables, the grand dining room, the side-less boho-inspired marquee - your photographer will love it.And the ceremony space? Oh, don't even get me started. Picture this: two massive fig trees (rumoured to be over 200 years old!) providing the perfect amount of shade, with green fields and farmland as far as the eye can see. It's seriously breathtaking. When the 'wedding party' comes out of the house and down the steps, you better believe it's going to be a showstopper. I'm talking drama with a capital D, but in the best possible way.Finding a wedding venue that allows confetti these days can be a bit tricky. But this place? They've got you covered. They don’t mind some dried petal eco-confetti. Not only will it make for the most amazing 'walking back down the aisle' shot, but you'll feel good knowing you're being kind to the planet while you celebrate your love.Once the I dos" are said and done

Wow just wow, what a place to go for a wedding.. the outlook, the setting, the venue and the food was amazing.. we would suggest that this is on the top of the lists to hold a wedding.. well done to the staff the caterers and the organisers for making out friends have an awesome wedding.. congratulations to all involved..

I had my wedding at Wallalong House a few years ago and it truly is a spectacular location and a beautiful house with gorgeous grounds (and views) for a wedding reception. It's the perfect spot for a weekend stay that is private in the Hunter. The food was fantastic, beautiful produce - simply done, the location perfect and despite rain on the day, it was still a magical evening. The ceremony between the two beautiful trees at the front of the house is just picture perfect. The positives far outweigh the negatives, but the only negatives we experienced was the portaloos. The odor was unfortunately not pleasant and it was a little embarrassing. It didn't help that it had been raining. For that reason I redirected guests to the house to use the toilets there. We had a small wedding of only 65 so it was manageable. I recommend the owners put in some permanent toilets next to the marquee area. Secondly, a housekeeper approached me during our wedding weekend booking advising me they would like to show potential couples through the house and grounds. This really surprised me as we paid for the accommodation and venue for 3 days and I don't think it's right to then allow others to just come on in and have a site inspection in the middle of your accommodation & venue booking? I politely declined and said I'm sorry, but no, it's not ok. Appointments/site inspections should be outside of customer booking periods. I never raised this following our wedding, but the owners may no longer bring couples through during your bookings. The owners were lovely and hospitable and very helpful. Over all we really enjoyed our stay at Wallalong. It certainly makes for absolutely, beautiful photos. As I said, ours was a few years ago (late 2016), so they may have updated their rules re site inspections and bathroom facilities. I do recommend this venue for many reasons - it's truly special.

Wallalong House was the perfect wedding venue in every way, from the gorgeous ceremony space to the perfectly kept grounds, the huge reception tents and not to mentioned the beautiful house itself.Having our family and bridal party stay with us over the weekend made our wedding so easy and such a special time.The staff were beyond incredible in the lead up to the wedding and on the day. They made the entire day and night run so smoothly.We have been to lots of wedding’s lately but no other venue compares to the sheer beauty, practicality and service Wallalong House has.

What an amazing venue! We were so lucky to have our wedding at Wallalong House in August 2022 and everything about our stay was stunning. The venue is perfect for a relaxed ceremony and a fun reception, we had almost 100 people but with the 2 tents it was a perfect fit!Bernadette, Natalie and Daniel the bar manager, and the rest of the team there were great to work with, always answering our questions and happy to host us for site visits before the day.Our wedding party and partners stayed the night before and the accommodation was beautiful.We hope one of our friends get married here soon just so we get to go back! I recently helped photograph a wedding at Wallalong House and its now one of my favourite venues to shoot at. The couple and guests were all in very high spirits and thanks to the management the wedding ran from start to finish without any issues. The grounds and home looked to be maintained to the highest of standards. The venue is perched atop a beautiful hill overlooking the valley, it doesn't get much better than this.
