Great museum ($25 for adults), I would highly recommend buying presents for family and friends from their giftshop to support the local Zeehan community (I've attached some gifts I got below, fairly cheap compared to other places in TAS and also supports local artists)

Just so much to see, well presented. The entry fee may seem a bit steep but it's really worth it and is good for a week, so spend a whole day or drop in over several days in between seeing other sights in the area

Expensive at @$25 for an adult, but reasonable for a family ticketed at $55. A couple of engines, some great old photo upstairs about local mining operations. A Very good mineral collection. Some very interesting exhibits inside and out. Would say its a bit tired and the displays look like it was put together by volunteers not professionals. But an enjoyable few hours.

A well curated collection of exhibits relating to the Zeehan and surrounding areas. A bit of something for everyone with an interest in the industry and the way life was. The inclusion of the adjacent buildings (courthouse, police station, Gaiety Theater) adds to the value. A must visit if you're in the area.Well done to all involved.

Very interesting place to visit. Allow half a day. Expensive entry of $25 per person. Unfortunately I think people are put off by that - in fact standing outside, I saw many tourists look at the sign, make comment on the entry fee and walk on. Inside, there are great displays on minerals - never thought lumps of rock could be so beautiful. Perhaps a display on what these minerals are turned into, why they are mined - why do they mine crocite. The workshops and mining displays are well done - interesting and immersive. Another reviewer mentioned that the exhibits look to be done by amateurs and I agree with this. There is little evidence of the entrance fee going towards maintaining exhibits with quite a few displays needing some love (such as the 1950’s era clothes shoved on a couple of racks and put in a dark room; the Masonic room looks like a jumble of furniture in a small room and the Gaiety simply looks neglected - mind you, that’s exactly how it is now sadly). There are a couple of extremely interesting old records from Hobart Gaol in the Magistrates Court - we need more of this to bring this room alive, to tie it to the past, otherwise it’s just a room. I found the old pictures of original conditions the best, especially concerning places I had visited recently, such as the vanished Balfour, and Zeehan itself in its heyday. All in all, made me realise that I definitely would not do well as a prospector in those days. What a hard life.

Good museum on the history of Zeehan and surrounding areas.$25 pp entry (14/11/22) is a bit steep though.

This is a must see in Tas IMO.The amount of artifacts and information in one museum is just outstanding, it just keeps on going as you look!A wealth of knowledge on history in the area, a real window into the past. The theater is amazing, mining history is amazing, steam trains, information on early settlers all amazing!Very cheap for what you get to experience! 10/10

An absolute must see on your West coast adventures. Give yourself at least 3 hours. There is much more to this place than meets the eye. Rooms of incredible photographs with accompanying stories. Mining and other general information. Amazing.
