Hangin' Out

Earl was a honest, trustworthy, calming guide. He was full of information in regards to climbing and the area. He guided the group, who were first time climbers to experienced.Some of the group had a real fear at the time of their climb. Earl was able to coach them and guide them up the climb, keeping them connected and focused until they felt ready to come down.When you are feeling insecure up the climb you want a guide who can both keep you focused and push you safely. I felt he satisfied this.We were first timers to Grampians.I would highly recommend Hangin’ out and will contact Earl next time we are in town for a climb.

Earl is an excellent and very knowledgeable guide with a huge wealth of experience who i have no hesitation recommending to anyone, no matter where you are with your climbing.After a short discussion, he was able to identify where I was at with my climbing, what I was looking to get out of the session and create a plan to achieve that in the short amount of time we had together.I left feeling confident in my abilities after achieving the goals we setout at the beginning of the session.Further to this, Earl was incredibly calm, friendly and you can tell he's passionate about not only rock climbing but a wider ethos of caring for the land on which we climb. Was a great experience. Loved the fact he (Earl) took the time to give everyone in our group helpful tips and directions. Paid particular attention to the youngest / least capable participants. Made the whole afternoon much more well-rounded with the cultural, mental and environmental intro talks. In between had some great chats - Earl is a Stella fella.Also I love rock climbing and it was really cool to actually climb on a real cliff face. The views at the top were really rewarding and the Grampians are stunning. Highly recommend.

My family and I had a fantastic time! Earl is a great guide / instructor and made everyone feel welcome. He made the day not only about the rock climbing but also about learning the history of the area and respecting the land. The climbing was incredible and the location even better.

Awesome experience! Earl is friendly, chilled yet great climbing instructor. He will guide you thru not only rocks but also history of the place. So that you can take in the experience as whole. Highly recommend Earl and his way of “Hangin’ out”

Earl took 9 of us , 3 adults and 6 children, for an incredibly challenging but awesomely rewarding experience. Earl is a Knowledgeable and gifted instructor who has an uncanny ability to meet his clients needs , providing us all with an afternoon we will never forget .Earl provided us with insights to the indigenous significance of were we were climbing and the debt we owed to its traditional owners . As a group we cannot recommend Earl highly enough.Visiting the Grampians ? Earl and “Hanging Out” is an absolute must do !!

Ok this is a delayed review, we went climbing with Earl with our two young children years back, pre covid, I have finally got a google account up and running and am taking the time to applaud those that have provided outstanding service over the years, Earl is one of those people, great with the kids, very environmentally conscious and very safe. A great day out it was and we really should get back for another climb one day. Apologies for the delayed review.

Could not have had a better time with Earl. Great to hear the history of the places we climbed and to respect the nature we were in. Always felt safe but definitely challenged! An amazing day out with my son in a beautiful part of the world. Could not recommend Earl more highly!

We had a great afternoon Hangin’ Out with Earl in the Summerday Valley in the northern Grampians. Earl was a great guide - informative, fun and capable. I think we all learned a LOT about climbing. Earl was very patient and encouraging with my youngest who was definitely “crafting a solid”. With Earl’s encouragement he overcame his fears and abseiled down the cliff. He said it was his favourite thing from our visit to the Grampians.
