I've been staying here on my way north for many years with the owners Ros and Garry lovely hosts, sadly they have retired which is understandable. I see the place is for sale so maybe current managers are just caretakers. Anyway I arrived last Saturday May 6th. The pub was open with no meals, Sunday open with meals, Monday pub closed for managers day off. Tuesday Wednesday pub closed, reason unknown, Thursday and today pub open no meals. I hope this place is sold and somebody who is interested takes over as this lot aren't interested.

Nice & natural, find a warm spot, look out for the extremely hot spots, they will burn you. Build a mound around you & laze there for a while, feels fantastic. Not busy at all

Would hardly call it a hot spring, have to dig your own hole to create a pool, and then wait for it to warm up. Good if you’re passing through, we drove over an hour to see it and was underwhelming

While I'm sure the paid pools are lovely, you 100% do not need to stay at the caravan park to enjoy the hot springs! It's totally free if you just want to laze around in the naturally hot Nettle Creek, and there are spacious/clean public toilets at the community hall just up the road. There are also free camps about 10 minutes each way, or a nice $10 golf club camping area in Ravenshoe if you're looking to stay the night. We spent about an hour swimming around the creek and testing out the water temperature in lots if different areas. The temp does vary quite a bit, so just be cautious before stepping in.

So special, simplicity and awesomeness are the words for this whole place. One pub/hotel and one caravan park, with both welcoming tenants. Watch out for the natural holes, heat can burn. Talk to locals, they'll teach you where to go safely.

The publicly accessible part of Nettle Creek on which the 'springs' are located is completely undeveloped, no toilets, no paths, no shade, no benches or tables. If the water is low, it's a somewhat sad spot, and while the sand and water were pretty hot on the surface, it does not look like a healthy place to dip, the green tinge. If the water is higher it may be better. Plenty of parking for cars or RVs, no camping or staying on public land. If you decide to stop overnight, the caravan park is the spot. The park has its own pools, and looks good as does the adjacent Hotel which is now under new management and it also looks inviting.
