⭐️Blueberry tart - don’t know how to describe why it’s good, but it’s just good. Immediately decided to come back and try other pastries after the first bite. Recommend!9/10⭐️Pistachio croissant - tasted more like lemon then pistachio? If you like pistachio flavour, recommend going to buttercrumbs. But the croissant here is more crispy.4/10⭐️Passionfruit custard tart - tasted a bit sour on the first bite but the taste of passionfruit is quite refreshing.5/10

Lovely bakery located in Surry Hills. Purchased two pastries for morning tea: cinnamon guy and a chocolate & hazelnut pastry. Also bought two sausage rolls for our lunch. Friendly staff who are passionate about their food and are happy to recommend items.

Would Return. Highly Recommended.I suppose the hype is real - be prepared for a line as I went during mid-afternoon after lunch and it was still busy. Not much seating options, they also do run out during the day.Wagyu and Mushroom - The filling is good, but I think what makes Lode amazing is the actual pastry. Extremely short, I taste a mix of beef and lamb fat - you'll coat your fingers from a simple touch. Very crisp and tasty. $13Sausage Roll - Again, its all about that pastry. Absolutely divine. The filling was par but nothing remarkable. Comes with tomato sauce which is a nice plus. $9Takes AMEX.

I’ve been here a few times and I really like the pastries and tarts they serve. Although the menu is a bit small, they focus on quality which makes of the pastries they serve very special and ON POINT.They also change they’re specials depending on the day. The pastries taste fresh as they bake them daily however I’d recommend to go as early as you can if you want to try them as fresh as they are. Dine in or take away is possible.

Loved the wagyu mushroom pie! Filling was generous, juicy, and tender. The pistachio croissant was really good too, I liked how citrus was incorporated into the frangipane so the flavors had more depth.

Displayed in a museum style cabinet the pastries are works of art. We have tried most items on the menu and they were all delicious. Yes it’s pricey but the pastries are a decent size (especially Crown on 487) and good for sharing. Get there early for the best choice. Great coffee too.

This is hands down, the best meat pie I’ve everrrrr had in my life. Melt in your mouth juicy wagyu shin pieces that has been slow cooked to perfection, wrapped in the flakiest buttery pastry. You know the lamination was on point from the very visible layers the pie has puffed up to. 11/10 recommend getting the beef pie. 10/10 will return.
