Best Western City Sands

This was good overall. Good location. We didn't get a water view room but the view over the city/mountains was still nice. Parking was fine, the lift was fast, reception pleasant and prompt.My only points of improvement are:1. It would be good if there was a freezer as well as the fridge - because the freezer compartment of the fridge doesn't really work effectively.2. It would be good if there was a TV in the bedroom - I don't normally like to watch TV in the bedroom but if you had a kid on the sofa or a cot it means you can put them to sleep in the living room and watch tv still in the bedroom without waking them up. There's also a perfect place on top of the dresser in the bedroom for this.3. Our main entrance door had an issue which required you to slam the door in order for it to lock fully. I hope the hotel promptly fixes this up for security reasons.4. We had a plate with an obvious crack before we got there. This probably should have been picked up because once again a bit of a safety issue.5. It was advertised that there was cable TV, but I couldn't see strong evidence of this. It was a smart TV, but a smart TV is only smart if you have a subscription to various services like Prime, Amazon Prime etc.

We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathroom. The bathroom are big. A lot of different kind of towel (face, hand, body, and mat). Unfortunately no bath up for such a big bathroom.Only one air-conditioning which is in the living room. My husband wish there will be air-conditioning in the room as well.There are no cook top, but it have bench top with sink. There are some utensil such as spoon, knife, fork, plate, glass ready to be used. Also there is dishwashing liquid and laundry liquid that you can used. The laundry area is outside the room.I love there is balcony outside, but it would be lovely if they put chair and table too in there.Overall we are happy with it.

Location is superb! 5mins bus from train station.We had an incredible room with relaxing view from the balcony. Bathroom amenities a little downer though, 1 each supply, had to use wisely lol. No dental kits available had to buy from a shop nearby.Overall, great stay due to location and proximity to places we intended to go.

My room was very clean, tidy and spacious. The ocean view made a very lasting impression. Reception staff was very welcoming. It has a great golf course and a nice bar.

Bathrooms need renovations. Shower drips. Great balcony overlooking Golf course but no outdoor furniture.Bedroom had a spot for a TV but had been removed.

Our room looked nice but it was a bit awkward. The fridge was very low and very small have to bend down to use it. Air con only useful within the lounge room area - doesn’t affect the room at all which makes it hard to sleep because you can’t leave the balcony doors open at night unless you wanna get eaten by mosquitoes. The balcony view is nice although there are no tables or chairs there so you can’t sit down outside. Other than that it was clean and tidy.

Bad experience with security deposit! Haven’t got it back after a week, $100 on my credit card taken, not pending, taken! The best they could do is tell me to discuss with my bank!!!

Beautiful location with amazing ocean and a serene golf course view. Got an opportunity to see sunrise on the water! Spacious rooms, nice and clean. Professional staff, very good dinner. A definite choice to stay. Thanks Best Western Wollongong.
