The Australian dive industry in general makes a lot of noise about training and safety, but nothing is acted on other than to pretend it never happened when a diver succumbs to carbon monoxide poisoning or becomes an involuntary amputee due to a cylinder rupture caused from over testing and unwanted graffiti (tank stamping) by reckless dive centre employees. Producers of Scuba cylinders deliver high standards of quality control before permitting any cylinder to leave the factory, and as such the recommended hydro-testing should only be carried out once in five-years—with visual inspections conducted annually.
