Home - Campbells Wines | Campbells Wines is a family owned winery established in 1870 and situated in the historic Rutherglen Wine Region in North East Victoria, Australia. Fourth generation brothers Malcolm (viticulturist) and Colin (winemaker) run the vineyards and winery. Campbells philosophy is to capture the full flavours of Rutherglen into wines of complexity and elegance. They are well known for their Bobbie Burns Shiraz, Barkly Durif and world famous Rutherglen Muscats and Tokays. Their Cellar Door is situated in a park setting beside the vineyards. Visitors can taste current releases including exclusive limited releases as well as a selection of rare aged wines. Regional food platters are available all day every day.

Reminiscent after 40 year absence this fantastic family vineyard is world class. The cellar door and garden surrounds are very comfortable, calm, special and welcoming. Even by motorbike from Hobart it is worth the trip.

Knowledgeable lovely man that served us. My partner bought a couple of boxes of 2016 Shiraz. I confessed I was a Sav Blanc drinker who added ice and water to my glass. He didn’t bat an eyelid. Great to not feel judged.

I have been visiting Campbells winery for almost 40 years because I love the great range of wonderful wines, the friendly knowledgeable staff and the relaxing setting. I particularly enjoy the iconic Bobbie Burns and Brothers Shirazs as well as the special Durif , Sixties Block and fantastic range of fortified wines.

Visited the cellar door on Thursday afternoon and there was a beautiful roaring fireplace which was a lovely touch, being in the middle of winter. There is an extensive wine list which includes aromatic white wines, dry red wines and sweet fortified wines. It was cold outside on my visit, but it looks like there is heaps of outdoor seating surrounded by rose bushes and vines which would get used in the warmer months.

Warm welcome. I learned more in my half hour at Campbells than I had all day touring the area. The Merchant Prince is the best Muscats on the planet and hast to be tasted to be believed.The grounds are really beautiful.

In all honesty, the 5 is for the grounds, the staff (Ange) and the pure generosity of the tastings! There are about 30 wines on the tasting menu and the girls are up for you trying any and all without judgement. There weren’t too many I liked out of the 12 or so I tried but just cannot fault the experience. We left with 3 bottles of Amelie which is a beautiful light red, a great picnic wine! We also took a gerwutz and a bottle of Muscat but none of the reds appealed to me as a red drinker.

Blown away by the delicious breadth and depth of the wines on offer, as well as the expert knowledge of Ange who looked after us! Such a beautiful winery and make sure you enjoy the cheese too!
