Hermitage Lodge

I was rushed into emergency where I had a surgical operation a week prior to my planned holiday, this surgery was obviously completely unplanned. After asking the Lodge if there was any possibility I could reschedule (I would be open to paying a smaller fee and moving the date to an alternative one) I was notified by the Lodge that i was “well outside the 21 day cancellation policy” with absolutely no empathy and a requirement to pay the fee. I understand that business is business, but humans still run these businesses and this lacked any humanity whatsoever.

Fantastic newly refurbished rooms which were lovely and clean. Reception helped us to extend our stay by a night too which was great. The only small thing was our bath wasn’t running any hot water but we weren’t that bothered about having a bath and we didn’t speak to anyone to get it resolved. It was fine the next morning too

Our 1 night stay at Hermitage Lodge was a very pleasant experience. Room was clean and tidy with a nice continental breakfast included.Lovey surrounds with a vineyard view and a crystal clear pool available.Highly recommended.

Had a lovely weekend stay. Well equipped comfortable accommodation. Perfect wine country view looking over a small vineyard. Kitchen had the basics we needed to cook hot breakfasts and 2 dinners (steak one night, we brought the only the food). Friendly staff. Slight wear on some of the fittings, but overall a nice place.

Do yourself a favour and don’t book this place. We had a poor welcome to our room. The place needs a major touch up or refurbishment for them to keep changing the prices they do. I was there on an event weekend where they literally double the cost. Our welcome was bad enough to warrant some form or compensation, a cleanskin bottle of wine did not suffice. I come from travel, a customer oriented industry, one should take ownership. It wasn’t a good experience and clearly they just didn’t care. I don’t know what the other rooms were like but lodge rooms are not worth it. Customer service is obsolete here… it doesn’t exist. They are due to refurbish next year apparently, but if they don’t care now they won’t care then. Owner Grace, the level of care when preparing a room for a guest is a must. Customer service is a must. I will never book again or recommend this place.

Amazing property and service. We first stayed there 7 years ago for our wedding anniversary and this time we took our staff for our EOFY celebration. We will definitely not leave it that long between our visits again. We would highly recommend to anyone.

Our stay in Hermitage Lodge was unforgettable.It is quite but you can hear the melody of singing birds.From our apartment we were enjoining the view of the garden.There is a restaurant just at the same building that starts working at 6pm so we took away the dinner to enjoy it outside.The room is comfortable and the bath tube Spa is nice.Besides, there is a great winery opposite just 5 mins and they serve great wine for wine testing.

Booked the Deluxe Spa Suite with King sized bed. The bed was really uncomfortable and definitely not king size, I actually slept on the lounge for the entirety of our stay. The spa was tiny and could only fit one adult and apparently our booking rate of $310 per night did not include house keeping, which was super disappointing as we needed fresh towels and more toilet paper. That being said, the grounds are beautiful, the restaurant was lovely and the location is great, but personally I wouldn't stay here gain.

The rooms are situated in peaceful and tranquil surroundings .There is a veggie garden on the premises, as well as plenty of flora and fauna . The landscape is also beautiful throughout this boutique style of accommodation, which has recently changed owners .There is an Italian restaurant on the premises called Pescara which is re-opening soon.We stayed in the “Pepper tree” roomWhich includes a spa and a fireplace for the cold winters @ the Hunter.Within close proximity to the Hunter valley gardens and to over 10 wineries if not more.We will come back to this beautiful place for sure.

Clean, lovely rooms and gorgeous vineyard views. Such a lovely accomodation! Please book a spot at the Italian restaurant on site (in advance). We ordered take out and ate in our room. The garlic prawn linguine was perfection, so delicious we drank the sauce. I’m gutted we couldn’t order some for lunch on the day of departure! They were closed. Best Northern Italian.Back to our room- good layout. We were able to watch telly from the couch or on the bed. Sat on the back porch for some tea.The carpet is a little old though, needs a steam clean or maybe new ones.All the more a pleasant stay, we will definitely come back.
