Polperro Winery

Had a gift voucher given by family as a reason to visit. Read the reviews good and bad, and admit to having some reservation about visiting just for wine tasting and snacks. Clear from reviews and replies that the lunch is the main focus for staff and management. Tasting room is small and dark, or you could say it’s intimate, unlike the rest of Polperro which is open and bright. Pleasantly surprised that service was great in the tasting room and at the lawn. A pity that outside tables on the deck are not also offered to casual visitors when not reserved for lunch guests. Overall, non-lunch visitors do not seem to be equally cherished, but it was still worth a visit on a warm day. Interesting that only 5-star reviews get a response from management.

We dined at Polperro restaurant for lunch. The dishes looked beautiful, however, we expected more for a $300+ meal for two. We found bones in our fish and my partner swallowed one by accident. One of the reasons that drew us to the restaurant was the beautiful interior, but we were told we could only sit outside and that they weren’t seating anyone inside that day. I sent an email providing constructive feedback as requested by the restaurant following our visit and did not hear anything back.

I had attempted to visit polperro multiple times because I heard of good wine varieties that they offered. However, I am quite disappointed of the experience I had over there. $15 for a tasting fee with 5 different average range of wine which is a bit over the price range around the region. There are many single vineyard varieties that didn’t list for tasting at all so it feels like you are missing out on the experience of going into a cellar door for wine tasting that a lot of wineries around Australia are doing. So I hope you will be able to update and provide more tasting options for customers even you need to charge us more.

Visited for a wine tasting. Lovely cellar door in a moody sit-down room amongst the tall walled racks of the wineries' selections. Unfortunately only got to taste the Even Keel collection of the winery which was a bummer. The lady at the cellar door was only working there for 2 weeks but was fantastic and engaging. Would love to come back to eat in the future with hopefully a selection of the Polperro wines available.

We stayed in one of the villas and it truly exceeded our expectations! Everything was pure luxury! The bedding was like sleeping on a cloud, the open fire place was perfect, the spa bath was exceptional, the included breakfast was delicious! Absolutely loved our stay that we didn’t want to leave! Thank you so much for having us. Highly recommend staying here in one of the villas for a very relaxing and luxurious night away.

As a visitor from Queensland, I reached out to my Victorian contacts for a recommendation for my final meal with my friends on the Mornington Peninsula and I was recommended with Polperro from another chef none the less… and was not disappointed.Polperro has a gorgeous intimate moody restaurant which is a delight to share a meal with your nearest and dearest. We were lucky to enjoy new Winter 5 course Set menu which delivered hit after hit after hit with impeccable service to boot! You can match your wines to the meal, but after having a little vineyard fatigue we ended up just enjoying a small selection including the delicious Estate Chardonnay.Definitely take the time to enjoy this meal, it’s great value for what it is and the offering is simply unforgettable

While this is not the first time we have been to Polperro, I have to say this was brilliant. From start to finish. The menu and food was amazing. The home grown fresh produce was even more amazing. David’s service was exemplary. Other staff members were very good also when David was attending to others. I do recommend Polperro.

We had an amazing time at Polperro winery. Such a delightful lunch, service was amazing & the setting was so peaceful. Perfect if you’re looking for a great relaxing long lunch spot with friends or fam. We will definitely be back. Thankyou so much!

This is not my first visit to Polperro Winery but it will be my last. 4 of us went there on Saturday for a wine tasting experience. we were in the tasting room with 3 other ladies who were doing the same. when the staff member started the pour she gave the 3 ladies a nice amount in their glasses to be able to taste the wine, when it came to my group of 4 we were lucky to get our tongue wet and had to ask for a bit more to be able to taste the flavour of the wine. 2 other people came in half way through and she also gave them a good pour just like the 3 ladies. I have no idea why she wasn't the same with us. she also offered everyone else in the room water except for us 4, we had to ask for it. I asked her if the tasting price would be dismissed if we purchased wine she said no to that too. I did purchase 3 bottles of wine when we finished and only because I had been given a voucher and needed to use it, Otherwise I would not have purchased anything after that treatment. Not happy with the service will not be back.

This place was pretty much in the top restaurants I’ve ever been to in my life.Food was not only delicious but innovative (which is hard to do in this current food landscape).The restaurant interior itself was homey yet elegant at the same time, overlooking their stunning vines. Weird to say but their toilets smelt amazing and everything about it was neat.I also have to give a personal shout out to our waiter, David. For being able to manage a large table of 7, is a great listener and so upbeat and quick to the take (my sister spilled some red wine).Thank you to the team in the front and back of house for pulling off such a wonderful, unforgettable meal and experience.From me and my family x
