Great Cantonese dishes in sumptuous serving, amazing chefs . Great attentive friendly services . Unfortunately ventilation remains an issue with cooking fume spilling into dinning area.

I was hoping this place was going to deliver fantastic Yum Cha, unfortunately it was a let down.We ordered a variety of plates and the Steamed Beef Rice Rolls 牛肉腸粉 were not appealing, chunky, chewy pieces of beef and the rice roll was thick and the combination with the beef was not enjoyable. The Prawn Dumpling 蝦餃 , Siu Mai 燒賣 and Chiuchow style dumpling 潮州粉果 tasted bland and not recommended. The worst items were the Beef Balls 山竹牛肉 and Seasame Prawn Fried Rolls 芝麻蝦. I did enjoy the Baked BBQ Pork Bun 义燒酥 .I do not recommend eating Yum Cha as the price to quality ratio is not worth it and Haymarket has a place that delivers better flavours.

The staff and owner of the restaurant are friendly and provided efficient service. However the teochew meals aren’t quite up to the teochew specialties standards. The braised goose was quite nice though was a little dry. The fish was fresh but the preserved pickles were a bit tasteless; the pipies were small; the oysters omelette with fresh oysters wasn’t the teochew style. The veggie dishes were fresh & delicious. They gave us desserts generously though.

Nice implementation into North Sydney a very busy business district. With YumCha and some sort of fast food implementation. Amazing for the area. However, the food is so so, the dimsim is ok but not as good as the old Sunny. Weekend was dead quiet and difficult to find. Some items were unavailable. After seeing amazing online advertising and previous experience was expecting a large restaurant with like traditional YumCha and carts but no.Overall still good YumCha place for those around the area!!!

A no frills Cantonese style restaurant. The food here is absolutely amazing. Sure the decor isn’t fancy or hipster.. but this is defo a hidden gem if you’re craving Cantonese food! Their ‘free range home style chicken’ is actually legit amazing and very refined. Silky smooth sauce, meat and skin. Highly recommend it. If you speak Cantonese, they could even cook up dishes that are off the menu (they cooked a scallop, egg white and Chinese broccoli fried rice).Don’t miss out on not going to this place just because the hipsters don’t announce it’s good over their BS social posts. Definitely worth checking out!!!

Eerily quiet on the weekend in the first hour of yum cha (understandable given it is in North Sydney where most business peak traffic periods are weekdays) but it gets busier around lunch. The yum cha menu has most of the cantonese standards with additional items specific to the chiu chow region. The format doesn't involve carts, things are steamed to order. Overall the dumplings are fine but skins are a bit thick and dishes like chicken feet are missing a bit of oomph and flavour, fried whitebait starts off good but is inconsistently fried. I'm not sure if this is only a recent opening but there's room to improve here, and quite a few items weren't even available. My highlight would be the egg tart - maybe not the best egg tart in Sydney but some of the best egg tart pastry I've had executed in Sydney, light and flakey, easily crumbling, whoever does the pastry got it right.

I think Sunny Seafood Restaurant is the best and the traditional of the Cantonese food in North Sydney, can taste the sauces was fresh and special when they steamed the live fish…Have Dimsum and Dinner is my favorite there, price are fair so far and lots of special set from $138, including one or two life seafood dishes

Exceptional chinese food. We tried to go after best restuarants in Sydney during our stay and ended up learning that our best meal was just behind our hotel. Good food. Friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We’ve tried the dinner and the yum cha and so far they’re good, but not mind blowing.Dinner - vege heavy and good portion. One thing that wasnt done well - the beef short rib was not tender, we struggled to chew.Yumcha - reasonably price, I dont believe it was handmade on site. The siumai, tripe and rice rolls were ok. Fried rice is well portioned.

We came here for lunch and it's not the best yum cha in town but it was still decent. We shared the prawn dumplings, xiao long bao, crispy prawn cheung fun, beef cheung fun, roasted duck, the signature fried rice and the mango pancakes. Service is polite and quick.
