Great Lake General Store
Cozy, friendly informative staff, a bar, visitor information, nice food, a warm fireplace, historical items inside and a good view. I was there in winter, and the snow melt water was a bit deep as I wasn't wearing boots. They sell hot chips, which were delicious and cheap.It has a petrol station opposite, with a small selection of convenience items and supplies available.

The shop has been revamped from last year and has all the basics including a selection of meats. Sausages, mince and a little steak. Bread, groceries, milk including pasta and sauces. Fuel a good price at 149.9 considering Tassie prices

Like an outback RoadhouseAn oasis amoungst the vastness of nothing between large distances a treasure amongst the Alpine dwellers and traveller a reminder of the courage and grit of the owner operators to provide such a welcome service centre to a remote alpine location...petrol diesel food supplies a warm retreat a human voice a lot of local knowledge ..no phone reception...a stop here may save your life as the roads require your full attention ...hotel and restaurant quality food available ajoining the store small campground with electricity friendly staff ...4 stars coz no cell coverage

The new owners are lovely. This place has been cleaned up and offer a great spot to have as drink and a quick snack. The fishing gear is priced super well now and the range is good considering the size of the shop.Baked biscuits with a warm coffee on a cold day! Will worth the visit if your anywhere near the area.

We arrived in the night asking for some advice on an area to camp and the lady at the counter let us know camping was available at the hotel in front, she was extremely helpful and so friendly. They have heaps of good stock, but honestly it’s the helpfulness and friendliness of the lady that served us that has the 5 star review. Thank you for your help and for your great storiesHighly recommend this place for food and groceries but also if you are looking for a smile

Great Lake General Store
The only store with in one hour drive of the great lake. They have all your basic needs groceries and small take away as well. Engine oils, fishing gear, fishing rods, flies for flie fishing. Warm clothes hats thermals waders. The owner knows everything about the area and is very helpful.
